No links so far for gift edition. Will add when I see them.

Still no final page count though. I think pushing 900-1000 probably?

I assume Amazon will adjust my pre-order price automatically? Still shows as the expensive price in "my orders"?

Anywho, Harry and Voldermort will 'die' in an epic struggle and peace will reign. Snape will be the saviour of the universe. Harry will not actually die but will be reunited with dumbledoor and his parents in some wierd wizzard afterlife (where it really is Christmas evryday).

I expect they will but if they don't they will refund you if you email them after you have been charged.

Not sure about UK edition, but the US one is going to be 784 pages I imagine that the UK one will be the same give or take a couple of pages.

When the fourth book was so much longer that it's predecessors I was really excited - but the length of this book smacks of Rowling suddenly having to tie up all sorts of loose ends that she hadn't really thought through until now.

As much as I enjoy the Harry Potter books, I don't have much time for Rowling's public persona. She's so smug about having had this entire series mapped out in her head since day one. In reality, I reckon she sits down to write each book and thinks "****! what do I do now?". Ditto George Lucas and Star Wars.

Sorry - thought that was general knowledge, otherwise would have mentioned it.

Yeah, I knew it and most here would, but some may have lived in a cave for the last few months

Probably less as the US one will have a much bigger font

I know the post I'm quoting was made a few months ago but isn't 777 god's number? Maybe because witchcraft is ungodly they decided to change the realease date... or maybe I'm reading a little too deep into that one

actually decided to start re-read at 5. as at the start of that, they go to Sirius house and find lots of old stuff, which might be the key things they are looking for in 6/7?

and had forgotten/not realised, that in book 4, in the book Mr crouch (works at ministry of magic) is controlled by you know who, but in the film he is played by trigger and not bad, just killed by his son who is posing as mad eye moody?

had forgotten how whiny harry is as well - well suppose he is a teenage boy
