Not quite sure why people have any faith in Sony/MS pricing digital games sensibly when many digital games are, totally illogically, more expensive than their physical equivalents at launch

Yep. You would think digital would be cheaper. No discs or packaging or shipping costs, although that probably amounts to very little, but most importantly no secondhand sales.

With stores like XBL and psn, publishers can change what ever they want. If you think games will be cheap once physical media is dead then I want to sell you some magic beans

There is all that plus no mark up applied by the middle man i.e the retailer.

I don't understand the impact of second hand sales; AFAIK Sony/MS get nothing from the second hand sale of physical media.

Exactly. They get nothing, so surely it’s in their interest to sell people a digital copy at a cheaper price, rather than letting people buy secondhand on a disc and getting nothing from it.

People blame retailers for high digital prices, if it was like £20 digital compared to £40/50 for disc then they might have a point but companies will never sell AAA tier games for £20 despite what some make up in their head

Had a go at Void ************ last night, have to say it didn't really do it for me. Every ship was practically the same. Not often I'm bored within a couple of hours of playing a game.

Thinking regards the price of console. For people like me who Xbox is primary console and who are invested in game pass etc then this launch could be the “cheapest” yet depending on launch price

No need to purchase games as will have them “free” with game pass. No need to purchase an additional controllers as already have three for current Xbox consoles which will work next gen.

So if the console is five hundred quid and if that’s all I have to pay because halo infinite and fable and other first party launch titles are on game pass then that’s all I have to pay

Anyone else upgraded their current Gold to Game Pass Ultimate for £1, whilst the E3 offer is on?

Somebody help me out here... Is it worth me finding a deal on an additional 12months gold to sort this out?

Also, I have a ton of Singapore credit for some reason - can I use that to buy gold and do this? Is it worth it?

Edit, looking at it I'm really seeing no.downside - am I missing something?
Now, I have 12 months gold and no gamepass... Just to find the cheapest way to get 2 more years of gold or gamepass for upgrade I guess!

Wowz gold is expensive now! I don't think I've paid more than £25 before

My current Gold sub, which I got using Microsoft Reward points, was due to expire Oct 2020, so I stacked another year on top and then did the £1 Game Pass Ultimate upgrade, which has got me GPU until Nov 2021. Can't complain about 25 months of GPU at a cost of £41 to me. Happy days!

So now we all have shed load of Games Pass subscription time ... any recommendations for non AAA games to play that are on it?

EDIT: Nevermind, just seen LeftHandGuitarist's thread where this question is probably better suited.

anyone new to GP, games do leave the service each month. Gamepass app will have them or you can google them

Is everyone who's upgraded to Game Pass Ultimate still getting the upgrade adverts on their dashboard?
