Perhaps i miss remembered something i heard on the making of,it might have been more like the cost of cliffhanger was the same as the profit they made on T2 but they had to give distribution rights away to secure more funding they saw little of the money it made. Carolco did have quite a few flops and movies that were good but made little money around this time which didn't help

You simply cannot remake the film that has arguably one of the greatest trailers of all time.

I remember at the time Stallone saying he was scared of heights, but his character wasn't so he just had to suck it up.

The end of the trailer where Sly jumps from one cliff to the other.

IIRC, it was cut because they thought it was a bit too superhuman, even for Stallone.


Fully agree it's one of the greatest trailers ever put together.
