Google Pixel 3a

Hot on the heels of Microsoft with their discless Xbox One, Google release a stripped down version of their hardware at a price that's ludicrously close to the full-fat version.

I guess there are enough suckers out there who will pay for it, but £400 for a plastic phone with a 670 under the hood means I won't be biting.

Some places have the 3a with a free (cheap) Chromebook or a Google Home (Nest) Hub.

Yay! Two things I desperately want when I'm in the market for a mobile phone.

Just sell the thing at a reasonable price.

My maths ain't all that, but £399 compared to £739 is closer to half the price, rather than "ludicrously close to the full-fat version".

There are some decent contract deals appearing, and the h/w is a step up from my Pixel 1, so I might go for it.

Wouldn't you just go Xiaomi or Honor or something like that at that price, whether getting more for the money or the same for far less?

I'd rather have the Americans spying on me than the Chinese. Also, less bloatware, faster OS updates, etc
