There are some excellent visuals in that trailer but everything else swings and misses.

Looks like a Netflix Original movie. Or maybe thats just how all movies look these days.

Should be fun though.

That's a very strangely made trailer that seems to go against everything they said about the film they were making.

I first saw that trailer without sound and couldn’t see the problem with it...

And stories going round of the producers being dicks to the director, sacking his staff, directing scenes without his knowledge and taking the final cut from him. Plus actors having to rewrite the script as it went along.

Sounds like there could be a good documentary on how the film went wrong hope Ron Perlman is rubbing his hands with glee, they never should have replaced him.

Hellboy is the producers first movie in 10 years, perhaps they were a bit to eager to show they still had what it takes. They are responsible for quite a few great actioners of the 90s

I think this seems to be the story of about 50% of blockbuster films, they think they can't lose, then realise they can and start getting worried.

I doubt this has got anything to do with Ron Perlman being absent, David Harbour looks a fine replacement.

I've no idea what has gone wrong (I'm sure we will find out eventually), but the source material is good (based loosely on "The Wild Hunt"?) so it should have been fine.

I loved the first two movies and was ever hopeful of a third with the original team but I guess it just wasn't to be. I thought the trailers for the reboot looked awful tbh and having heard reviews from people I trust, I'll be avoiding this one!

Does look like a lot of meddling hasn't helped and also I do wonder if the change in feel is down to the success of Deadpool & Logan so the studio thought they'd give it a go.

This didn't need to be made. It's ridiculously choppy and stuff happens immediately with little exposition.

That said, it's gory and fun. And good performances from some of the cast, including Harbour.

We really do need to get away from:

According to the BBFC, the home release features a 71 minute documentary. Nothing too revealing I expect.

Also, the films been dumped onto Amazon Prime in the US where they can watch it for free.

Not too surprising.

The first ten minutes of this (the Mexico section) is so bad I almost stopped watching it. If felt genuinely embarrassed for everyone involved.

As for the rest of it: There's a few decent moments (most of which are cut all too short) & Harbour is clearly giving it his best, but the Hellboy makeup looks rubbish, the supporting cast is terrible, it feels incredibly cheap & it just lurches from scene to scene with absolutely no narrative flow.

A wasn't expecting much after the poor trailers & bad press, but it still didn't meet my extremely low expectations.

A friend rented it for 99p on google play store and really deserves the bad reviews. Harbour is doing his best and is the best thing about this (agree his make up for his face looks bad). Sasha Lane is terrible, dr who level acting with really bad British accent

It really looks like a netflix movie, some of the cgi is really cheap (one or 2 examples are ok). Harbour said an interview about too many cooks which is in no doubt about the producers being dicks and messing with the film. Its not the worst film, some fight scenes are entertaining but Hellboy deserves better than this

Such a shame they got rid of del toro as the film didn't have any style to it, the
scene felt a little like his style. Hopefully del toro will get to another film but its likely this film has killed the franchise for a bit
