Heart of Darkness - Apocalypse Now Doc

What is the story with Heart of Darkness, the Apocalypse Now documentary?

I've still got my VHS copy.

Why does Coppola have such an issue with it?

It is a real shame this will never come out on DVD.

I also have Notes by Eleanor Coppola. I assume this is hard to find too.

He has issues with how he's depicted in it, apparently, particularly the "He's not dead 'til I say he's dead" bit re. Sheen.

One would think it's well known enough now for him not to be bothered. Plus it's a fascinating insight and I don't think he comes out of it badly, just... a tad.. deranged. Which is all to the good, of course.

If I were Coppola, I'd have more of an issue with all the copies of Jack that are floating around the globe.

Is he stopping it being released on DVD? The last re-issue on VHS as a double pack with AN was only a few years ago.

I have the double pack VHS with Hearts of Darkness - dont see what his problem is , the people that will buy it on dvd are fans and probably have it or at least seen it anyway, having it as an extra on a reissue wont make the general public who own copy buy it again - only true film fans buy multiple copy's of movies and they allready know what went into making this film

That last VHS issue in the double pack was the last official release - the best quality version around is on laserdisc, although it's pretty scarce I think.
