That was a lucky find! I was in London at the weekend and checked out two HMVs on Oxford Street, both only had the paperbacks, they were £8

After having peek at it its tempting to buy, as I have kinder laid off buying star wars around 2004 that is the DVD! “Oh no” its not thee original! LOL

This one is reaching out to me, buy, buy, buy now buy now, buy now!

I’m interested in the Dolby film mixing process does the book go into a fairly lengthy detail on that side?

The production stills wow, I’m sure that most of the stills where not even used on the definitive Star Wars THX laserdisc box set only a few I see and many more that wasn’t.

From memory it talks a bit about Ben Burtt assembling the sound library, but its mostly about the scripting and design, the nightmare of shooting, and the horrors of the special effect production. Utterly tremendous book though, well worth it if you can get the Hardcover cheap. Its truly warts and all and very honest, no fanboy sugar coating.

If you want a book exclusively on the sound design though, keep an eye out for The Sounds of Star Wars, by the same author, in september

Theres a freebie 30 page photobook preview of the full Making of Empire Strikes Back title with the September issue of Empire magazine. And it looks like its going to be fantastic, I've never seen any of the photos in the book before, and most brought a huge grin to my face

Looks ******* great! This is on my Santa list for sure

I bought the first one off Amazon marketplace, it arrived mint. But upon closer inspection I noticed indents in the cover where someone had used it to write out invoices

I complained and the company sent me a new copy (which arrived pristine) and told me to keep the old one. Result!

Amazon.co.uk is showing the Making of Empire as instock already, but I'm not certain whether to trust it.

I've just cancelled my pre-order for "The Making of Empire" with Smiths and reordered from Amazon. Really looking forward to this one!
