The silence yesterday was deafening wasn’t it? Let’s face it if the tubby procrastinator had shipped these as promised he would have been crowing all about it if only to stick it to me and Haines.

Maybe Lucas is so enamoured with his EBay score that he’s running off more tatty laserprints, scribbling on some manuscripts fished out of the trash and converting his sacred text into 8 track format in order to post up more auctions. At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if he said the only way us long-standing purchasers could now actually get the book was to bid on one of his "special" (sic) editions. I wonder if those suckers who won the auction realise they’ve basically paid an additional $400 for a bunch of stuff that should be in the bin or is intrinsically of no value.

So it's come to this.

After seven long years you stoop to this - even for you - new low.

Calling him "tubby". That's sickening.

Or they realise they're getting it in the only form it's ever likely to appear in.

He is a bit tubby, let's face it. But hey, 6 years' preorders buys a lot of pies.

Turns out there's a typo on page 824, so the whole run has got to be re-printed.

Seems that the books should be with Mr Lucas tomorrow and will be shipping on a daily basis over the next couple of weeks...

It SEEMS we've stood and talked like this before

It SEEMED like the book was shipping in 2005, 2006, July of 2007, and August 21. All he had to do was post on that date that the books were held up in customs and it would be a few more days. Instead, he removes the book and its ship date from his home page and is completely silent.

Why do I feel like JonathanE and my copies will be the last to ship?

Haines, Tim wouldn’t be that petty would he?!?!? Perish the thought. I was glad to see confirmation on the extant order page that international orders were airmail. How much do you think Tim would like to ship all those pending international orders surface? Quite a lot I suspect.

I never know with you if you’re joking or not but I thank you for continuing to stalk me across disparate forums. Flattery of a kind I suppose.

How will any of you be able to enjoy this book at all (assuming you do ever get it) after everything that's happened and the waiting, oh the waiting...

Books are starting to arrive. Received mine today. It was sent out the 30th of August, so that's a pretty decent shipping time - and no problems with the customs.

When did you order? Let me guess - More recently than 6 years ago?

There will be no customs issues - No duty on books.

I must say I'm slightly disapointed that the books seemed to a) be actually printed and b) shipping as this thread has been very enjoyable over the years! Given Lucas' love of himself, is the content of the book really going to be that good?

Yeah, sorry to say it, but I did order after the book was sent to the printer. I really wasn't expecting it this month as I understood it would be sent out in the order the pre-orders were received. But apparently mine slipped through.

As for customs, I live in Denmark, and here we have to pay 25% VAT on books plus a Ł6 fee to the customs for doing the math (I kid you not!).

As expected. Couldn’t really expect Lucas to do anything sensible or fair and make sure it was first in, first out. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s lost details of the early orders.

Well, as I said, I expect that those who've been critical of his behavior will be the last to receive their books, as he's a petty little fellow, apparently.

But the fact that someone who ordered their book after it went to the printers got their copy before those who ordered six years ago, is both nauseating and sadly typical of someone who has spit in the face of his loyal customers at every step.

It seems everybody else I know here in Denmark, who have pre-ordered the book, have received their copy (all having ordered the book years ago) - and according to a tread at dvdmaniacs.net people in Austria, Australia, and Belgium have apparently also received theirs. Sounds like they are shipping the books out alphabetically by country.

Alphabetically by country! Genius. There is simply no end to Lucas’ capacity for crapping on his customers. He could have regained some degree of goodwill if he’d ensured the longest standing orders went out first but he chooses this random order instead. I hope the shipping costs are killing him.
