[BBC3 / iPlayer] - Killing Eve

Anyone been watching "Killing Eve" on BBC3 / iPlayer?

I was just about to launch into a new series on Netflix when a friend tipped me off about this gem. It's about a ruthless female assassin who leaves a trail of bodies across Europe and how a low-level employee in British intelligence begins to track her.

There are some standout performances - Jodie Comer as the Russian assassin is superb, and Kim Bodnia from The Bridge pops up. There's twists and turns aplenty and you never know where it's going next, plus there's some laugh-out-loud black humour as well.

2 episodes to go and can't wait to see how it turns out. Highly recommended.

Baffled why the bodyguard got all the praise when The BBC are showing this at the same time. Its the best British drama in years.

It was great but lost me with the 3 assassins in the field going after Frank and subsequent chase, it was just daft.

Indeed I also agree its just daft. Enjoying it but from the beginning fingerprints don't seem to exist. The female assassin never does anything to cover herself being there. It's enjoyable as she is so good in the role, but stupid.

I could argue Black Earth Rising is the better drama at the mo, it is dull in comparison but a worthy subject matter.

The other great BBC drams at the moment is Trust. All star cast, Danny Boyle directing, written by the writer of slum dog millionaire. And there quietly showing it on BBC 2 with hardly a word said.

Yes - this was episode 3 which for some strange reason was terrible ! Absolutely farcical and completely wrong in tone and dialogue, as well as ridiculous in how they were supposed to be doing the job.

Thankfully it completely recovers after this episode, although there are a smattering of scenes in later eps where you worry there's a return to the farcical.
