Difficult The Young Ones question

Series: 1
Episode: Interesting
Scene: Vivian just gets off the phone saying the other guests will be arriving any second now. Guests burst in, music playing.

But what is that song ?? It goes " They'll be dancing in the ceiling.." or something (no, but Lionel Ritchie!)

Anyone know ??

No.

My Kind Of Climate is the one the band perform in the front room. He's talking about when all the people burst in from the pub and one guy is carrying a boombox. And I'm not sure what that song is. I can't even remember how it goes off the top of my head either.

Simple enough to find the song from the lyrics in the episode: The song is Ain't Nothin' But a House Party, originally released by The Showstoppers. They probably re-recorded it with a female lead for the show or they used an established cover. Only female version I could find info on was by the Paper Dolls, but curiously all youtube clips of their version have been removed on copyright grounds.

EDIT: You can listen to a snippet or purchase the Paper Dolls cover via amazon streaming. Unfortunately the 30sec preview doesn't cover the opening of the song, but it sounds to me like the Paper Dolls version is the one used in that episode!

Top work mate.

I still love that episode - "Hello Rhiannon, are you glad you could come to the party?!!"
