Well she seems like the worst. The very very worst.

I'm not watching that every week so that's me done with Dr Who until the new regime.

Yep indeed, all i saw was a masterclass in bad acting, reminding me of Donna Noble. Seems others are reminded in a good way. It was an over the top performance by an actor that felt insecure in the role (as opposed to playing a character being insecure) and as opposed to the subtle changes of a face of a good actor in the role gurns her way through the performance to show she is emoting.

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong but didn't enjoy last season, Chibnall taking over seems a poor choice and now fear we have a companion again from an actor that is a broad performance. Signs not looking good for me.

It was just a special filmed clip.
They start filming the Xmas special in May (which she is NOT in), then the series in June. To be fair to her I would not base her role in the new series by a promotion clip.

I tend to agree.

Also, did no one else find her questions LOL and the sort of questions that maybe someone else should have asked by now ? 'Why don't they just say kill?', 'Did they run out of guns?'

The dialogue was the problem, and we all know which tired, one trick pony is still writing that.

Chibnall can't come quick enough for me.

Agreed. The first one in ages that you didn't need a PhD in Doctor Who to follow.

I had my reservations about this episode as I wasn't sure how they could fit a super hero into Doctor Who but I thought they did it very well and as a result this was probably the best episode of Doctor Who for years, let alone a standalone Christmas episode.

Watched this yesterday.
An enjoyable episode.
Always worries me when they bring in a well known "Celebrity" into the show (Matt Lucas) but he was able to control himself and blend into the role well.

So, whilst it's nothing like ye-old SERIOUS Dr Who of the past, which is a shame, I'll still give a thumbs up

Enjoyed it too.
Biggest surprise was how well Matt Lucus blended into the story.

Will admit though, for a highly developed Alien Race able to travel between planets and do that kind of surgery.
That was a very silly & awkward place to store a gun. I mean. Why?

Because people with half a head look cool and creepy.

Some great jokes at the expense of Superman The Movie and even Tim Burton's Batman but basically a homage to them as well.

I thought it was really good too. Matt Lucas's character worked really well I thought.

Looks like he's sticking around to the Spring for the series for at least a episode as well.

So Capaldi to move on... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38805151

Shame - seems like he's only been in it for five minutes (not helped by only having one episode last year I guess).

Capaldi has confirmed he's leaving the show with his Doctor regenerating in the 2017 Christmas Special (that has yet to be filmed).

Good. The show desperately needs a reboot.
