This has been on my watchlist since forever, and I just rattled through both series over the last 2 weeks ... EXCELLENT stuff !

I think the first 4 hours (eps) of S1 are some of the best TV I've ever seen.
Watching them all together, the pacing is a bit uneven, as as others said - some eps seemed rushed.
S2 is higher budget, looks more cinematic, with some great camerawork. Not as gritty as S1, but still compelling stuff. So many interesting (flawed) characters.
Great acting all round, with very unsettling prison conversation scenes.
Weird to see Myrtle and the Downton Abbey guy in serious roles, but you soon forget.

Highly recommended.
