Massive Arcade Fire fan - this is how my response to the album has been:

First listen: Kinda glazed over it.
Second listen: Not sure what to make of it
Third listen: Getting into the swing of some standout tracks.
Fourth listen: Getting into the swing of EVERY track.
Fifth listen: Play though, rinse, repeat - since two weeks ago.

Unsure if it's a Suburbs/Funeral beater yet but it doesn't feel right saying it's the 3rd best out of 4 albums - guess they're just that great.

It should be amazing! Everyone in the audience were wearing masks and stuff so dress up if you want to!

Might have just been where I was, but there also seemed to be a lack of people there just to take photos/videos to prove they were there.

Terrific set. Won't spoil anything in case they repeat the set throughout the tour. Encore made the room mighty dusty for me.

Oh, and they might have just come up with the best entrance to a gig. And I don't mean on stage, literally as you walk through the first doors.

Yes! wasn't that brilliant... a complete lack of mobile phones in the air! I was on the right side as you came into the arena.

Ditto. Perhaps the right side was just the best side

Went today, just got back, amazing gig :-)

Were a few people who were camera phone taking (grrr!$!"($) but a great atmosphere overall and good set list, am loving the album (except the last track)..

Just saw the setlist for last night and if it's accurate, so glad I went on Monday! Crown of Love over Supersymmetry on Monday...

Only own the latest album...are the other three albums any good? Is the new one a different sound due to the LCD influence?

I think they all have their own sound really, but equally are well worth a listen. Funeral and The Suburbs (debut and third) are must-haves, almost perfect albums, but Neon Bible is the one that splits people. I still rather like it though and it has one of my favourite AF tracks in Intervention.

Maybe listen to the lead tracks of the albums to get a flavour? So:

Funeral - Wake Up, Rebellion (Lies)
Neon Bible - No Cars Go, Keep The Car Running (it's not an overall car theme, fear not)
The Suburbs - The Suburbs, Ready To Start, Sprawl II

Am I the only person here who finds The Suburbs utterly dull? Admittedly I've only listened to it about 5 times so I don;t know if it's a grower.

I quite like Neon Bible and I love Reflektor, but Funeral is still my fav.

No, I find it dull too, there's a few good tracks (Half Light II - No Celebration and Sprawl II - Mountains Beyond Mountains) - apart from those two, I just found it to be, well, just a bit of nothing here, and nothing there, it just doesn't grab me, and when I saw Suburbs live, it was like, just some generic indie band playing some songs, when they went to Neon Bible / Funeral songs, it was just pure energy...

but Suburbs is sooo many years ago - thinking Reflektor is top 3 album of the year ...

But it has Month Of May on it - wins.

Neon bible gets a bad rep, it's awesome but takes a few goes IMO. Conversely, for me The Suburbs was awesome on the first couple of listens and then I could take our leave it in comparison.

Was at The Barrowlands gig last night, here's my flickr set:

Think I was in the right time at the right place when Arcade Fire's lead singer joined the mariachi band as you walked in the entrance to the venue. He scarpered after five minutes, brilliant gig.

Just back from Blackpool. Worth the 500 mile round trip? Absolutely. Unbelievably good. Perfect venue. Amazing crowd. Exhausted but hugely happy to have seen them in this environment.

Practically everyone dressed up to the nines. Made for some very sweaty dancing!

Somehow I can't see Earl's Court having that kind of buzz, but I've booked up - if only to wear my costume again
