Updated with details on Del Toro's Mimic: Director's Cut, plus Cinema Paradiso, The Cider House Rules, Life is Beautiful and Dead Alive (aka Braindead, early Peter Jackson horror comedy).

Some decent stuff in there and some guilty pleasures (yep, I'll be getting the Spy Kids discs)

Please, please, please let it be the proper Braindead and not the US version. Even if it is, that stupid title Dead Alive is almost enough to put me off.

But.... calmimg down..... some good catalogue titles here.

I'm intrigued to pick up Mimic in its new cut and give it another chance - I remember kind of enjoying it back in the day but it didn't stick with me like so much of del Toro's other work... the extras definitely make it worth a punt.

I think its the 97 minute version, that means the gore is intact ( i think ) but its missing seven minutes of foitage seen in the UK and Japanese editions.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103873/alternateversions

The link above has more detail on Brain Dead and the differences between the versions.

I like Mimic, i hope Lionsgate don't apply excessive dnr and then i'll buy it.

Okay i typed foitage, lol, that should be footage.

The UK version has more gore, more character building footage too, i'll pass on the USA one even if Jackson himself seems to like it more.

"one of the top 100 funniest movies of all time!"

Doesn't really come across as much of a compliment!

I'm definitely looking forward to "Pulp Fiction" and "Jackie Brown" - don't think Tarantino will ever top these in my opinion.
