Looks like Owen is out for 3 months...

http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/footbal...#ixzz1EEhH3JQp

I presume he hasn't even got the 10 games to get a prem medal if you win the league?

Can't believe it's been 6 years since he left is to 'win things'...That's one injury blighted career that's gone down the pan.

He cost us very little, scored a last minute winner against Citeh and won us a cup last season. 'Job done' as far as Utd fans are concerned.

Wonder what the monthly wage bill would be?

This article pretty much says that the Glazers spread the rumour to push the bonds sale

If it's written in a newspaper, it must be true.

If it's written in TWO newspapers, there's no room for debate.

I was just responding to the 'gather pace' rumours. It would be fantastic for the city of Manchester if these rumours were true. The Manchester derby would over the next few years become one of the biggest games in the world. United have played their part in recent years, City have to catch up to a level to be able to compete.

If these stories are true and not just gossip/wishful thinking Manchester will benefit and I love Manchester and would be proud to have the 2 teams with Manchester in their name to be slugging it out for years to come.

Yes, I am fully aware that I'm getting well ahead of myself, but am in a giddy mood today

I get your point, but Utd are doing ok at the moment.

Utd can stand on their own two feet and don't need a billionaire. We generate the third highest amount of money in the footballing world. We don't need an artificial input of cash.

Our fans / marketing can sustain our club and provide us with the players the fans want to see. We just need the Glazers to spend a little more of Utd's money, or **** off.

Whilst I can't wait to see the back of the Glazers, to see the club as a plaything of Qatari gazillionaires hardly fills me with excitment either.

I'm talking about the city of Manchester. The revenue generated by United fans coming to our wonderful city and the input of cash and building structure planned by City’s owners is good for the city. I'm purely looking at it from a business angle for Manchester.

Manchester must make millions every time a United home game is played. That's a major input into our local economy

rustybin United are doing more than ok at the moment. Top of tghe league looking to win it and still in the CL & FA Cup. You would have took that at the start of the season I wager.

rustybin I want you to think that if it were not for billionaires putting in an 'artificial input of cash' United would have won the league every year except 3 since the Premeirship began. That can't be good in any ones book. The Premiership has been given excitment and competition because of these people prepared to invest in the league

How would having a billionaire owner change what's already happening?

Utd sell out 75,000 for almost every game.

Unless the billionaires are interested in adding 25,000 capacity to OT, in which case I'd be interested.
