The TV slot is just 40 minutes - 11:15 to 11:55 ... that is not going to be the whole gig, surely?

Really looking forward to this. Surely the biggest 'Queen' thing since 1992 (possibly Ukraine with QPR might eclipse it) as it's being live-streamed all over the world too.

Adam Lambert is Marmite and I'm still not sure about this whole Queen + Flavour Of The Month thing. But those songs deserve to be played and Lambert does a fine job of them.

Very impressed with that; first part a lot better than the 2nd IMHO. Probably won't hear WWRY on the bagpipes again

Very few people can pull off Mercury's stage presence - Paul Rogers certainly couldn't - but Lambert comes very very close.

Might have to track down an o2 ticket now

I saw them at the O2 last night. Extremely impressive stuff, Adam Lambert has a voice like no other human being and is overflowing with charisma. He did a gorgeous unaccompanied first verse to Save Me. It was nice, though, that he deferred to Brian and Rog (who were really on form) and took a back seat to them.

My only complaint was that it was a greatest hits fest, I love Queen for their album tracks and heavier side.

Do you mean singles or only top five hits? Maybe more album stuff in the earlier days.

I saw them in 86 and IIRC they only gave the punters what the punters wanted.

I think the most lesser known track would probably have been Brian and Fred singing love of my life together.

Yeah I mean that while touring with Freddie they generally played a mix of hits and the album stuff - apart from '86 when they sort of began their nostalgia period (though they did In The Lap of the Gods). I was watching the tours from '76 and '77 on YouTube today and they were extremely varied (and generally heavier). But even into their '80s tours they kept songs like Sheer Heart Attack.

The best part of this gig for me was Stone Cold Crazy. Oh, and the bass player had some fun throwing in the riffs from Don't Try Suicide and Body Language!

But you would expect a massive band to just play hits the more hits they have.
They had the wall album by then so hammer to fall and radio gaga were two of the highlights among the old classics.

But they avoided flash gordon!

Much to my dismay.

Doesn't mean I have to like it! Kate Bush had the right idea, play what she feels like.

I've got to wait until the end of Feb to see them in Sheffield, but loving the reviews and setlist so far. Trying to limit myself to reviews and photos until then though and not watch and YouTube vids just to keep the excitement level up for the show itself.

That said, I'm already trying to figutre out where on the floor is the prime spot and looking at ordering merch online so I don't need to worry on the day! The seating plan seems to always show full General Standing on the floors of the shows but some pics look like there is a pit directly in front of the stage and between the end of the walk way out into the arena. I don't recall seeing tickets going on sale mentioning this, so does anyone know what the deal is with it?

Yeh but she waited like fifty year to play it.

Well, that was as good as it's ever likely to get without Freddie. If you've even a slight interest and you can find a ticket, go.

Totally agree, Lambert was brilliant, ....loved the little break into "White Man" just before they went into FBG's

I'd love to. But it involves travelling as, once again, they decide to skip Wales. They're not alone in this, of course. I think they've skipped Ireland as well.

To be fair I do think we lack good venues. The Motorpoint is rubbish but, actually, I think this show would work well in the Millenium Centre.
