As I thought, cheers mate!

So are these likely to sound as good/clear as the Love remaster?

There was a article on the remasters in Mojo a few months back and they heard the new white album mix. They were very very impressed.

Bit late on the bandwagon but I have only just heard about this and I'm really excited. Love was excellent, the sound quality was fab.

I wonder how much this boxset will be. Think I will get the Stereo one and stick with my Dr. Monos.

Any sign on prices for the box set yet? I've had a look on amazon and HMV but can't seem to pull up the box set, just the albums.

No sign of pricing here or in the US. I'm guessing £150 for stereo.

All the individual albums are up for £9 on amazon.
I would have thought there would be some sort of saving to be had for buying the boxset. Admittedly you get a bonus DVD with all the mini documentaries on but I'm hoping to pick it up for around £100/£110. But I'd agree with Mike that the RRP will probably be about £150.

I reckon a selling price of £150 will be about right, I don't think there will be a saving on the box set (if anything it will be more expensive) so I doubt it'll be as cheap as £100. Managed to sell my existing collection for £80 so looking forward to replacing with these new remasters!

I agree, box slightly more than buying them individually, and I'm guessing mono more than stereo. £110 would be nice, I'm budgeting for £150. If it's more I'll get individual copies.

I'll just be buying the 4 classics if the box is that expensive.

Likewise - I'll build my collection up individually if it's more than £100

Given the amount of money EMI have extracted over the years on vinyl, cassette, and CD, they should be giving these away free with a Sunday newspaper over a couple of months!

Will wait for an offer on the stereo editions as I'm not coughing full wack for these again. And I thought the movie companies were bad enough at double dipping!

Don't know if I'll enjoy these without background hiss in all honesty

I'll test the water with The White Album I guess... that will be 3 times I've bought it on CD.

So true - but apparently the Beatles' contract states that the albums will never be released at mid price, which is why they are never cheap.

Will these remasters get vinyl releases?

And what does the boxset give us over individual releases other than packaging. Is it the only the DVD?

I just gave a listen to the good Dr's stuff. It shouldn't be hard for them to mess up these remasters really. Mind you I was suprised that the Dr stuff isn't really 'remastered' at all. They're just exceedingly good Vinyl rips from the best sources. The most he's done is eliminated some pop and hiss from a few albums. He's obviously also used very expensive equipment to get these rips.

Doing a quick compare with 'I am the Walrus' from the 'Love' album though and the latter comes out on top. The mix is better overall and you can definitely hear more going on (When Lennon sings "Pretty little policemen in a row" you can hear the Tuba(?) behind him quite clearly, on the other releases of the song its not very prominent at all). Mind you that might have to do with the fact that the Magical Mystery Tour album is badly mixed in the first place.

It's quality. You can well imagine it hangin about with R2-D2. And when the fan is switched on it looks like it's scanning for life-forms like R2-D2 does on the ice world of Hoth when Luke Skywalker goes missing. Quality in moton. The other day it disappeared. I said, "where's the bag-l gone? have the jawas come to pick it up in the sandcrawler?" to which one of the girls in the office replied, "No, Les the porter!" —Captainchode
