Is it legal for Vodafone to phone you to save you money and then sell you stuff?

Just wondering, i get this call once in a while, but they're getting worse. Usual thing is I'm a

Loyal customer
Will save you come money

Then they try and sign me up to a Samsung Galaxy Tab for only £3.51 a month

Was quite aggressive today, basically if I hadn't been listening attentively he'd have signed me up without realising, had to tell him I didn't want one five or six times before hanging up.

Can you not just wildcard the number? Like say if every one begins with 08711 then just block 08711* or just 087* something like that?

My phone shows them as local numbers, like a fake solicitor phone call

You sure it actually is Vodafone, and not another re-seller who has got your number from somewhere? Ring VOda direct and ask to be removed form any marketing calls - that will stop it if it is them.

Hmmm not sure. I do get other calls claiming to be from voda that seem less legit. I'll give them a call

I get the “I’m calling on behalf of O2” all the time.

Very annoying.

I wouldn't care so much, but normally they start with, loyal customer and going to save you money. They then try and sell me a knock off ipad on a ludicrous contract, like I can't do basic maths in my head.

Nex time then phone us ask the companies actual name (as in XXX Ltd), ask them to remove you from the list, do a GDPR subject access request/right to be forgotten (if it's not vodafone).
