The latest comic explains exactly that. Note that the following probably contains spoilers for forthcoming episodes:

Save the cheerleader, save the world

HRG was given Claire to look after and told to report any abilities to them. He didn't tell the company about her because he wanted to protect her. That's why she was brought up in a "normal" household environment and not kept in a lab somewhere.

Out of the factions we do know about, the most powerful appears to be Linderman and The Company, not the Petrellis.
I'm pretty sure that the episode linked Lindermann to The Company as it's head?

We know Nakamura was also a leader in The Company but is he now?

I assume the Petrelli's were also involved and

I'm guessing that perhaps the Petrelli's broke off and Lindermann has Nathan and Peter's father killed?

Watched this last night, great episode! Something very bad must happen in the future in order to make 'Future' Hiro appear so different, he looks like he's lost his fun-loving, almost child like qualities, and seems much more hardened when we saw the confrontation between both Hiro's at the end of the episode.

He also says 'The world changed when Sylar exploded' - indicating that Peter Petrelli isn't the exploding man! Good spots by other viewers though, especially in the paintings, with the character looking angry at something!

Watched eps 19 + 20 last night. Will watch the remaining ones tonight. Been a great series so far and even the missus, who generally hates Sci Fi with a passion, is absolutely hooked.

Not giving anything away Mr F. but that point becomes a bit more clear in the next ep.

I love that there's info in the comics...if people aren't reading them that's their problem!

but don't put important plot revealing info in them. Has it ever been said on sci fi that we should read the comics? if they are part of the story, then whowever shows it should mention it after each episode.

Excellent episode last night (glad we don't have to wait 5 weeks like the American's). The finale is in sight now with the hero's convering on one another.

The key to Issac's story was his final comic that he gave to his publisher.

Can anyone tell me which comics link up with which episodes? I'm reading through them, but I don't want to accidentally overshoot where I'm up to with the show...

You can read up to Chapter 32 if you've watched the future-timeline episode.

EDIT: Comics are here.

Imho they're really just for fun although they do include some background information/story.

To answer my own question: if you've watched 0.07% (the episode this thread is discussing), don't read past comic 29 (the last war stories one).

Does anyone know why Linderman is so keen to make Nathan president, when just 5mins ago, he wanted Jessica to assassinate him?
