Sorry John - It had to be done

re MO - I can't believe he isn't going to sign, after last week saying that the deal was near completion and would be done and dusted 'next week' (ie, now).!! Is Ł10M an accurate valuation of him, 'cos under Rafa I think he could get a new lease of life...

If he goes for 10m whoever gets him has got a bargain for sure. There are many who dislike him now, but if he signed on they would soon change. He is a class player and if we can't keep him it just makes us look bad. If its adios Owen, it will soon be adios Stevie G.

Maybe we will have a bit more of anm idea tomorrow.

Looks like Danny Murphey is off to Everton instead of Spurs as we wouldn't guarentee him 1st team football.

taken from BBC website about tomorrow's match....

"Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will partner Djibril Cisse up front with Michael Owen for his first competitive match in charge."

at first glance i thought Rafa had registered as player/manager and was going to show Owen how its done

I dont dislike Owen, its just been obvious for over a year that he is going to try to see the contract out. He's going to try to do a 'Sol Campbell' or 'Steve Mcmanaman'.

Up until now there hasnt been any interest from any other clubs. If that wasnt the case he'd have signed by now.

no he won't do a campbell/mcmanaman.if he doesn't sign this week benitez will freeze him out of his plans and he'll go for a knockdown fee towards the end of august IMO.if that doesn't happen he'll be a reserve team regular for the rest of the season.if he wants to keep his england place that's no good to him.so it'll be decision day in the next 48hrs i reckon, sign or go now!

Call me insane but I think Stevie G is back on for the long haul - I think he likes the direction of the club under Rafa, he likes the mass cull of players and I've never got the impression that him and Owen are the best of mates anyway.

Just watched the press conference with Rafa and he was asked 5 times about Owens situation and dodged the question every time-storys are coming out that hes on his way to Spain as we speak, but I think its rubbish to be honest.Im sick to the back teeth of hearing about Michael -if hes been taking us for a ride I will be pretty annoyed but not suprised. If hes not committed move him on NOW I say,and get someone in whos committed to the club.

they were the best of mates in their younger days whether they still are i don't know.i heard that gerrard fell out in portugal with carragher/owen over the chelsea move,be ironic if owen is the one to go.

I'm almost bursting with all the transfer gossip now - very good news on the KT boards regarding a visitor to Melwood today. Can't reveal who at the moment but if he arrives, then fantastic stuff!!!!!

So that we can hurl abuse at him again when it turns out it's all gossip and nothing comes of it

EDIT: As Alonso played against Everton the other day perhaps he didn't catch the plane home and decided to sign for the reds

John this is getting quite boring now. If you can't post the details about whatever it is then don't post in the first place.

I don't want Owen to go, but if he does it won't be the end of the world.
