I saw somewhere that the Mexican GP is still on the calendar? Considering that Mexico is practically the only country where COVID and related deaths are still spiralling up, is it likely to go ahead?

Yeah missing the first car out of the pits wasn't a great start. Reminded me of when Damon Hill won his championship in Japan and the BBC lost the pictures at the start - as luck would have it though it was an aborted start and they managed to correct things for the next start.
Red Bull have officially protested DAS on the Mercedes this evening, the stewards are considering it now.

The F1 2020 Thread
Protest thrown out, DAS is güd
I don’t like how the new graphics aren’t showing the drivers nationality, it’s all well and good in F1 but in F3 it’s very hard to know who’s from where. Didn’t know that the pole man for race 2 is a Brit till after the race, and that includes watching all of practice and qualifying
Nice recovery from Igor Fraga (sp?) to come back from 30th to get 16th, as a Gran Turismo follower I am watching him with great interest.

I'm guessing they're waiting and seeing, but I'd guess it's all but cancelled. Maybe it's better for them if the government cancel it or something, for insurance, than cancelling it themsleves or trying to agree a deal with the organisers.

Red Bull have lodged a protest over the decision not to penalise Hamilton yesterday, and Mercedes have been summoned to the stewards again:

Hamilton apparently dropped to 5th based on reports of where Red Bull and Mercedes are setting up cars on the grid.

Watching Vettel chasing Russell just shows how bad Ferrari is, no sooner have I typed that but George’s car dies.

Great race and was unusual to see so many mechanical/software breakdowns, its not been an issue for years. The cars looked good and damn the sound from the cars over the rumble strips was intense, no wonder they got so many failures, be interesting to see what they change for next weekend. So glad its back

I think Vettel unfortunately demonstrated why Ferrari were right not to offer him a new contract.
It felt to me that much of the media coverage pre-race seemed overly sympathetic to Vettel when he revealed that, as if there was an expectation Ferrari were morally obliged to offer him something.

I would not be suprised if they did need them, if its going to be the same race over again they need to do something to make it more robust. If they cant do it in time it will make for a more exciting race as the uncertanty of the gear box and maybe other systems in the cars will mix it up a bit.

Vettel needs to move on to another formula of racing, he is showing his age and his ability is not what it was, no suprise Ferarri wanted new blood.
