I did wonder how they're going to stop this appearing in some form given the demand there will be to see it outside the US.
Looks great though and loving the Herzog voiceover.
They won't stop it... DRM cracked or not, it will be released immediately to all the nefarious sites. HDCP was cracked years ago so they'll just capture the display output.

This.
There will be people setup to capture and encode the video and audio as soon as it's available.
So even if there isn't a source that can be directly ripped it'll still be available immediately in high quality.
All the time and money spent on DRM and it's always either cracked or just bypassed altogether.
Well, after all the wait, it was ok. Visually impressive & retains the Star Wars feel along with the appropriate sound FX but a lot of the score feels very different & on first listen, didn’t impress that much. The main character was ok & what little story we got, was lean & the end reveal was mildly interesting.
Too early to pass proper judgment, especially as the 1st episode is only 38 minutes including lengthy end credits but so far, it’s reasonably entertaining.
I'm slightly disappointed by the first episode. Visually it looks great but the story and characters were lacking. It's very hard to have any sort of connection with the main character because he always wears his helmet and doesn't speak much. I'm hoping the story gets going with the second episode and they'll introduce some side characters to liven things up a bit.
Pretty much my feelings with all the recent Star Wars output...stunning to look at, lacking in every other department. While I always applaud the use of practical effects, I thought the anamatronic mouth on Kuiil awfully clunky.
Quite heavy on the 'REMEMBER THIS?!?!?!' as well with the Kubaz spy, TT-8L door droid, Gonk Droid and Kowakian monkey-lizards
It's set 5 years after Return of the Jedi. It wasn't who you think but just another of that species.
My expectations were high so I was a little underwhelmed. The first half of the episode seemed to play it all a bit safe and tick off a lot of cliches (both from westerns and from Star Wars). After that it improved considerably. The Mandalorian culture is complex so I'm really interested as to what we're going to learn. The final 10-15 minutes were great fun and the reveal at the end was one I did not see coming.
It looks great for the most part, I was impressed by all the aliens and use of practical effects. The music stands out as something different, but I think I liked that.
Mostly it felt like the episode was too short to really give us a clear idea of who these characters are and where the story is going. Looking forward to more.
It was ok, nothing more nothing less. As with all modern Star Wars stuff the callbacks to the originals was OTT and anything new they added just isn’t the same standard and sticks out like a saw thumb.
This is meant to save Star Wars for Disney, according to people in the know. If it is it’s going to need to up its game fast.
