That's really annoying as I had 1 yesterday on the screen, got the ball animation to say "nice" and then it froze. Not in monster list after restarting it

Well I've now got 2 Magikarp from a tea point at work, can't see me grinding 400 though!

OK, played for about a day now but I can't get the AR camera thing to work, which seems to be half the fun. Once I tap on a Pokemon to go to capture screen, I then can't find it and wander around with the camera out hoping to get a jump scare by finding it behind a wall or something. Is it meant to be viewable on screen the second you go to catch mode?

Sometimes after about 5 seconds, it actually flashes up saying something like 'we can't detect orientation on your phone, do you wish to close AR mode' - I have a Samsung Galaxy, would have thought it would work on this?

Any ideas?

The AR is only basic, they don't hide behind/under stuff. I've just had to rotate round to find them.

Weird - I've spun round 360 with the camera up and found nothing. There's the occasional little burst of white static graphics that I assumed was a hint for when you're close to finding one?

Well up to level 6 and 60 odd Pokemon caught, I think I'm going to concentrate on catching for a while before leveling them up, as I wasted some on what I now know to be a very weak one.

Just managed to do about 20 pokestops in 30 mins, in Warrington there is a huge loop of about six and when you've got to the last one the first is back.

I walked to some new ones, to see if they gave better rewards, they don't seem to.

I'm currently running to iOS 10 beta and get the same due to an OS incompatibility with the app.

I would hazard a guess that if you're running a very up to date android release it may be the same thing. Wait for a future app update.

Just FYI they are easier to catch without AR.

Some good advice there, aside from liking to collect them, I'm not sure what I'll do.

Apparently you can drive at up to 25mph

Didn't work, had a look at the incubators and I'd covered 0.1km, I definitely drove slowly further than that. Will stick to walking. I'd add I just had it on for the distance, didn't try and find anything else

I think I've read somewhere it doesn't really add up the distance until you interact with something.

You can collect Pokemon in a moving car at any speed (I have only done this whilst a passenger!) as well as hitting the Pokestops as long as you are quick.

But gyms and eggs distances do not work.

From personal experience I'd say early on just transfer the common pokemon and then evolve them when you get enough candy, for XP. Don't power them up, just save your stardust for later.

getting fed up with crashes on android at the moment - lost a squirtle and venon thingy tonight as well as 2-3 other commons - used incense and then wasted most of the time having to restart!

lost at least 8-9 pokemon in the last couple of days when caught but game freezes

Mine worked fine from 6am until about 11am, then it just started crashing every time you caught a pokemon, sometimes it caught, sometimes it didn't

From my last 5 ball freezing, I've managed to capture 4 using this method...

1) Turn off GPS.
2) Count to 5.
3) Turn on GPS.
4) Count to 5.
5) Force close app.
6) Restart APP & check Journal.

What I think is happening is that the game refuses to contact the server if you have no GPS so when re-enabled it then sends the last known game state, which is Pokemon Capture. The animation is still stuck because the game is still out of sync. I'm assuming that the 1 that didn't appear in the Journal "broke free" from the capture.

Thanks for this advice, I've got rid of a load of repeats and just kept my very strongest of each one, but keeping at least one of each.

You get one candy for each one you get rid of. Allowed me to supe up my Hypno to 45.

Just wish there was a better way to fight them instead of getting hammered at a gym

I've not evolved anything yet. Just kept the highest of each & turned the rest into candies for future Pokemallism. Apparently Lucky Eggs give double XP for a set amount of time, so the best time to evolve is when activating one of those. I'm sure I read that you get one before level 10?
