I had one hatch and didn't know what I got, but arranging my Pokemon by "recent" rather than alphabetically I could see a recent one I hadn't actually caught.

Apparently it does tell you when it hatches but I couldn't have been looking at my phone when it happened.

I made a mistake of putting a 10k egg in the free incubator, only 1k left. I might get it if I drive slowly enough home
Has anyone found a free incubator at a pokestop or are these from the shop only?

I've ended up with 2 incubators, one with an infinity symbol underneath and one that says it will break after 3 uses. I've not bought anything from a shop, just picked stuff up from Pokestops. I definitely started with just one incubator, but I don't remember what it said underneath it.

Pretty much every time I catch one the game crashes, I'm level 3 and walked nearly 5km. There are two pokegyms really near my house but need to be level 5

Someone here in Stockholm got arrested last night. Was walking around his neighbourhood holding his phone out, and someone called the cops thinking he was a terrorist brandishing a gun

I'd never heard of this until this morning. It was featured on the BBC news, as apparently paedophiles are using the game to lure young kids into dark, out-of-the-way places to catch them (or something like that!)

I don't know how the game works, but it seems you can create these creatures to be in a specified (real) location, and then people have to try and find them. Is that right?

If so, it seems like it might set a very dangerous precedent!

Or is it the BBC news just scaremongering?

I don't think you can, you walk about and find pokemon randomly, I don't see how a paedo could really use it but I've not really got to grips with it

It's basically a treasure hunt type thing. People can't put them in a location as a lure. They are are certain locations fixed as part of the game (pokestops and such like). So the concern is that finding them yourself means you can predict where players may end up.

But... you could equally well predict that kids will end up at a playground so...

BBC scare mongering. I don't think anyone can place the Pokemon.

Walking round earlier and there's loads of kids aimless wandering round with there phones out hunting the things.

I saw a few people having a go, I even told a kid how to do with the pokestop as he had no idea what to do. Just had a look near me and they're a few pokestops near me if I just vary my walking route a little to work.

I don't see why a paedo would hang around anywhere specifically, our local church is one and I got three pokeballs. I probably past 10 kids getting there so I can't see why anyone would lie in wait.

Anyone know how long they take to reset and you can visit them again?

Pokemon Go

In answer to a few questions posted:

You can place a 'lure' at a stop to attract Pokemon there for anyone who is close to it - this is how people are 'luring' others to these places, four men in America arrested for doing it and waiting for people to show so they could rob them.

To answer another question the stops reset after five minutes so working out a nice walking loop can be lucrative.

And finally you can get extra incubators when you level up.

Right see you in a bit, gotta catch em all etc.

So, played a bit earlier, have a few Q's

1. Ended up at a pokestop or three and just span the disk that appears, is that all I can do?

2.is there a knack to catching the Pokemon? I just seem to fling endless balls at them until I do...

3. What's this stuff about lures? How do I place one of those?

4. Is there anything social or pointful to this? Or am I just wondering around catching things? Any battles or anything? If not, why am I building my collections???

I found that the green circle (which goes smaller) needs to be as big as possible to get bonus points, and you need to "flick" the ball up to about 2/3rds of the screen. I was trying to roll them to the monsters before and wasted a few balls before I realised.

It's not exactly a social game. Ingress has a much more involved social experience (can involve meetups with beer & quite often cake) and has big game events held every few months. There's one in Birmingham in about 1-2 months and there will likely be 500-1,000 players per team.

My other half came back from her daily walk raving about this game. She was walking around the local supermarket carpark trying to stop Pokaballs from rolling under cars.

So I've decided to have a go and that I am could name all the Pokemon around me.

I went for a stroll round block earlier for some general exercise and it was like the Dawn of the Dead out there. Normal quiet housing estate where I usually just see a couple of dog walkers was now full of lone wanderers shuffling there feet and reacting to nothing but sound

1. At the moment yes, spin the disk and collect what comes out.

2. Keep your finger on the pokeball and watch the circle on the pokemon, when the circle is bigger it is easier to catch them, smaller and you will get more points. For more XP you can throw a 'curve ball' by rotating your finger around the pokeball until it is spinning and then throwing - but this is more difficult and you are likely to miss and lose more pokeballs than the extra XP might be worth.

3. If you have a lure (gained though pokestops or by buying them) you attach it to a pokestop when you have the pokestop open on screen, I *think* you tap the white section above it. However incense is just as effective and only benefits you rather than everyone.

4. At the moment it isn't particularly social, however there is talk of improvements here in future with talk of trading cards and pvp battles.

There are no real instructions included with the game, I have just learnt through playing and google!

Cheers for letting me know the five mins for the refresh, that'd explain a lot, there is a very small green space with about ten within a five minute walk. So I might take a walk at lunchtime.

Got to level 5, went to a gym, there pokemen were level 600 mine were 60. If you lose you get no XP, sounds obvious but thought there might be some for having a go.

My normal 55 minute walk to work took 90 mins, I did take a longer route to hit some stops though but caught some new pokemon.

You can change the order of your pokemon to time, so the ones you got most recently are at the top. I got a snorlax from a 10k one and a magikarp from a 2k one.

With the incubators, you start with the one with infinite uses. Any others you get will always be 3 use only. I seem to have got one either from a pokestop or levelling up to level 6.
