We tried to watch this last night! Didn’t get past half way! You’re right about being dark and depressing! I didn’t know where it was going and just felt uncomfortable watching it. Tom did act well but that didn’t make up for the film for me. It seemed to be trying to be too many different things. I’m sure there was satire and political comments in there, but I just felt that it wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience to watch all 2;1/2 hours! I think this one is going to split opinions.

Well given the current mood of the nation I should give a shout out to Netflix's recentish docu-series on the Yorkshire Ripper called The Ripper, as its focus on the male chauvanism exhibited by the police force and society has become tragically topical in recent days. I caught it back when it came out and thught it was a pretty shocking indictment of British society of the time and now really but ultimately the series suffers a little bit because it's an episode or two too short imo, something that has been plaguing recent Netflix true crime documentaries (The Night Stalker being the worst offender here, complete waste of time that one).

Still worth checking out, I guess it's better to leave you wanting more than being bored off your tits because it dragged on!

Speaking of documentaries, I am about half way through The Donut King ( on Sky Documentaries ).

Very interesting life story type thing about how/why so many Californian donut shops are owned by Cambodians - or, rather, in a way one particular Cambodian extended family. Lots of stuff in it about the Khmer Rouge as well which I was, ashamedly, completely unaware of.

Same. I'd imagine Disney's bank account will be quite busy today, it's a year since launch I assume.

It kind of got buried in the Black Widow news of yesterday but Pixar’s Luca will be a Disney+ original on June 18th meaning it won’t cost anything extra to stream.

I’m not sure I understand Disney Premier Access logic yet. Raya, Cruella and Black Widow will cost extra but so far new Pixar releases stream for “free”.

Are Pixar a bigger subscriber pull?

The sequel to 'Train To Busan' -Peninsula is up on Amazon prime.

Also, for video nasty fans, last year's documentary about 'I Spit On Your Grave' - titled- 'Growing up with I Spit On Your Grave ', is available for Prime subscribers. (A pretty interesting watch)

I brought Train to Busan on Amazon Prime.... yet this has not been surfaced by Amazon's 'algorithm' as something I might want to watch.. still useless after all these years.

Just watched the first episode of the Amazon Prime animated show Invincible.

I liked the style, reminded me of Batman the animated series.

Was struggling to see why it was a 18 at first.

Thunder Force - don't waste your time. One of the worst films I have seen in a long time.

Mark Kermode reviewed Palm Springs today, said the Amazon Prime movie is worth a few chuckles. One for tomorrow night then for us.

Kermode having a famously well-tuned funny bone of course.
