Overall ? Awful
First half had so much potential for a con movie. Second half just was a waste of time. Beyond implausible with an ending that I felt ruined the film
Shame as you to a point I was really enjoying but it just let itself down
Great opening, transitions into a different kind of movie in the second half. The only thing I am a bit uncertain of is the last 20 minutes can't decide if it's awful, that I got cheated, that it is genius or just so true to reality (kind of) that it's was hard to take in.
Don't know if The Dawn Wall has been mentioned on here, but watched it over the weekend on Netflix and it's bloody amazing. I'm not good with heights so a lot of it was watched with gritted teeth!
It's about a couple of free climbers ascending The Dawn Wall up El Capitan in Yosemite, a route that's never been managed, and it's crazy.
I would highly recommend.
Followed that with Free Solo on Disney Plus, which is about a free solo climber going up a different route on the same mountain. Free solo means no ropes...his attempt is just with a small bag of chalk to help him. If I thought The Dawn Wall was a tense watch, I was barely able to look over my hands for this. Compelling and again, brilliant.
They make an incredible pair of movies, but I would definitely recommend watching The Dawn Wall first!
There's a Joe Rogan interview with Alex Honnold over on spotify that's worth a watch as well, he's an interesting cat for sure and I think it touches on The Dawn Wall IIRC.
So, what are we all expecting from Coming To America 2 next week ?
Based on the trailer, I think it's a good job I already pay for Prime
I’m really looking forward to it! I loved the 1st one as I was a teenager when it came out and was a big fan of Eddie Murphy!
The trailer looks like more of the same so that will suit me fine!

Watched this last night, I enjoyed it, I agree, tonally (and narratively) it was... erratic to say the least, but still found plenty to enjoy, the initial set-up, the sheer horror of it, and a truly fantastic performance from Pike...

Tom Clancy's Without Remorse is coming to Prime in April.
Doesn't seem to have much relation to the book (which as far as I can recall was largely about him taking out neighbourhood drug dealers), but looks pretty good anyway.
