Loved The Trial of the Chicago 7. Had very little interest in the subject matter going in & only really watched it because it was from Aaron Sorkin, but it was absolutely gripping.

Eddie Redmayne & Sacha Baron-Cohen are both actors (& I use the term loosely) I usually avoid, but they were both surprisingly watchable here, & the rest of the cast was superb.

I'd love to know if the judge was really that biased in the actual trial. It seemed insane.

Wondery are doing a podcast on the Chicago 7 trial. Their Business Wars podcast is superb so will give this a listen too to see how it compares to the Hollywood version.

Loved the script but wasn't blown away by the direction. Sorkin should spend more time writing and leave the directing to proper directors (The Social Network was one of my favourite movies of the last decade).

Did anyone catch the West Wing special on HBO Max? Great seeing the gang back together, even if the "ad breaks" were somewhat preachy.

Also thought Chicago 7 was excellent. Disagree with at least one of the changes to the truth he made, however the movie was entertaining, found it funny, with some twists, and moving at the end and mostly true. The worst thing when I looked it up was totally true.

How does it match with Hill House (which I liked)?
I've seen E01 which was enjoyable - though the "English" bits were excrutiating. It's look reminds me of Hammer House of Horror which might be intentional.

Likely to be overlooked by the release of the new Borat movie, but the excellent Oscar winning PARASITE has just been added to Prime.

Thought Parasite was excellent, a well written story that keeps you guessing at what's going to happen. Best movie I've seen this year.

Whereas I thought it was over-rated, getting a bit chaotic in the second half, thought the tighter scripted Handmaiden was better that did a similarish story a couple of years ago.

And I'm happy for the breaking/blurring of genre, loved the Host for instance. Just felt a bit of a mess with some good black comedy in the second half. I am aware however I am in the minority.

Color Out of Space has been added to Prime.

If you like weird offbeat films you should definitely check it out. It's no where near as full on gonzo horror as Mandy.

Anyone else watching THE QUEENS GAMBIT.? We have been and it’s great! It’s quite different to the usual Netflix series. It feels very sophisticated and it’s really well acted too!
I’m not a big fan of Chess usually but it’s all handled very well. It seems to cover addiction pretty well too. We only have 1 episode left now!

Brilliant
Lovely show

I mentioned it previous but can see Apple at some point getting premier league / championship coverage and then adding this to the show. So having real presenters featuring in the show and more real life players

Crown Season 4 trailer

Gillian Anderson as Maggie. I initially thought it was Faith Brown!

I watched a couple of episodes of Truth Seekers on Amazon Prime last night.
I enjoyed them. It's sort of pitched somewhere between Dr Who and X-Files I suppose. The episodes are single stories with a sub plot running in the background (so far). Both Nick Frost and Samson Kayo are likeable main characters and Malcolm McDowell is a delight.
