Well it would be one way of selling those additional 20,000 additional empty seats

Poor game until Kolarov's goal and then the game came alive. Tough on Villa who at least matched us and glad to get the 3 points. With the draws earlier today, the top 4 is now as good as secure.

Benteke was onside before the winner, could have been a red for Hart too

Definitely a pen and a red for Hart. City were unbelievably lucky today. Impressed with Villa.

And the penalty that we should have had when Aguero was tackled around the neck? Or when Silva was scythed down? Not only do decisions tend to even up over the season, but sometimes in the same match.
"Unbelievebaky lucky" is a bit strong, but I thought that we were poor for a lot of the game today. Really can't understand why Milner and Fernandinho don't start every game either.

What Rob said.
It does have to be said tho the quality of ref'ing across the board has taken a nose dive this season.

I am sorry but the fact the people still believe and repeat this load of ******** is laughable.

This season ?? More like the past 5+ years. Possibly even since they became professional, earning £125k+ a year without any accountability.
The fact that arguably two of the worst refs in recent memory - Riley and Webb - are now in charge should not give anyone any reason to hope it won't be just as bad next season either.

The difference being Adam that some of us are prepared to accept that refs are human and make mistakes. When I repeated the old cliche about everything evening up, of course it's not as good as having the 100% correct decision every time and the lucky and unlucky decisions don't cencel out exactly, but the general sentiment of the statement is still true. However, we've had some lucky decisions this season and some bad calls against us. I can't say that one set of decisions far outweighs the other though. Have Liverpool had a horrendous decision against them that has cost you dearly this season?
In our case, I'd rather look at the mistakes that Pellegrini and players make and argue about what could be changed to improve things, because in terms of the officials, nothing will change.

A shaky start, a well worked goal and then a commanding 2nd half performance.
Silva's pass and Aguero's goal were pure quality. I thougth that Hart and Kolarov had really good games as well.
A good win that means a win and a draw from our remaining home matches will see us secure a top 3 place. It's been a very good 3 weeks following the derby debacle.

Best I've seen from Kolorov all season.
I hear that City are after Danny Rose. He was impressive too I thought.

I'll happily see Danny Rose swapped for Kolorov, if that's what City want!

If you believe the Daily Star, we are after Danny Rose. But it's that time of year where we are after everybody again. He was pretty good against us on Sunday, but I can't see us paying too much for a left back to be honest.
Clichy counts as home grown so we'll probably be keeping him.

Pogba is the perfect replacement for Yaya surely. That should be in the bag.

Yep I think Pogba should be our No1 target, but by all accounts he is PSG's No1 too with Chelsea and Real sniffing about too.

I'm sure somebody will come along soon to point out that we're not really worth that much because we've cheated our commercial ladder.
I'd love it if we got Pogba, but somehow I feel he'll go to a bigger name club.
I'll tell you who would be ideal as well - somebody whose name was bandied about plenty last summer but hasn't been mentioned since, but after watching him for Juventus on Tudesday, I think that Arturo Vidal would be perfect for our midfield.
