Still here just taking a back seat as it were. Lost our first Derby at OT in years, not the best but as a club we need to get back on track and try and finish above Manchester United. Top 4 is defo a priority preferable Top 3. We will see where the season takes us

What would worry me as a City fan is the players haven't looked like they've cared for months now. When Chelsea play **** the players get excited and do daft things. City players just shrug their shoulders and go through the motions.

Their attitude when Aguero scored his second was a complete and utter disgrace.

The question I'm asking myself is where does the blame lie for the dip in form, is it the players, manager or does it go higher up to txiki as he is forcing the formation and play style on every team in the city football group from all academy levels up to 1st teams.

I'm guessing Klopp is going to rock up soon then...

I can see him taking a while off personally as he looks totally burnt out. Maybe they'll try and see how Vieira goes for 6-months?

Just got back from holiday and it was probably a good 10 days to be away - taking in the Crystal Palace and United debacles - didn't see either game.

As to where the blame lies, we're all guessing but much has been made in the press of the age of City's team. On it's own, I don't see this as an issue, but a lot of these players had a full summer at the World Cup and if you take this into account, maybe we shouldn't be so surprised that we have faded so badly. Let's face it, we were pretty good up to new year. e.g. We know Kompany is a great player, but with him being captain of the ludicrously over-hyped Belgium team in Brazil, this is bound to take it's toll.

This isn't to excuse - there are some players who are obviously not putting a shift in and I think the squad is due an overhaul in the summer. I don't think changing the manager is the answer, I'd change some of the players first (although it could be argued that replacing Mancini had a great effect the following season).

If I were in charge, when (if !) CL qualification is assured, I'd:-

1. Make sure Mangala gets a decent run in the team alongside Kompany.
2. Get a decent left back.
3. Build the midfield for the next 3 years around Silva and Fernandinho.
4. Got shot of Dzeko, Nasri, Toure, Kolarov, Fernando & Sagna. I can see a place for both Navas and Jovetic in next season's squad, but I suspect if a decent offer came in, they'd go.
5. Sign a few younger players (Barkley and Pogba if possible).
6. Promote a few from the EDS.

(I'm not questioning what Toure and to a lesser extent Dzeko have done for us over the last few years, but the time is right to move them on).

If he brings Hummels with him, I'd like to retract my comment about Mangala above!

This is eerily similar to 2 years ago when a big thing was made of the players not wanting to play for Mancini. I'm sure Pellegrini is a nicer guy than Mancini, but I'm suddenly feeling that Mancini's tactical nous is what we need right now.

Nice to win again, although it was like taking candy from a baby. The race for the top 3 looks more rosy after this weekend.

I guess Mangala will get an extended run now with VK injured and this will be a good thing; Mangala has been no worse than his captain this season and has had some good moments, despite what the press think.

Navas did well for both goals.

good win at the weekend, and thankfully no serious injury for Silva. Heres hoping we can get this into a run of form and fight for 2nd place.

And in other news, Yaya is having his Bi-Annual "Waaa Waaa I wanna leave" session. While there is no doubt he is an amazing player I think its time to cash in and try for Pogba or someone similar to Yaya in style. Im not sure who we have in the academy who is a box to box midfileder.

Isn't his birthday coming up?

You should get rid of him anyway. I'm fed up with seeing him loping about the pitch not giving a ****, so I can only imagine what the fans who see him every week think of him. Lazy git.

Yaya might be good for another club where he can start again and put in the effort, but I think we should get rid. Fernandinho is a far better player now in my opinion and a central midfield pairing of him and Pogba would be the ideal scenario for the next 3 seasons.

Yep, that would be good. There is a lot of talk of a major rebuild this summer, If we do go down that route I would rather have maybe 3 bought in and 3 bought up from the academy, Pozo, Brendan Barker ( right winger/attacking Mid ), Jason Denayer and possibly Devante Cole, although Cole may be better going out on Loan again for another season and getting more 1st team football.

You would have thought that we could have had a few youngsters on the bench on Sunday and brought them on instead of Nasri and Dzeko. I think our owners and managers have done a lot of great things, but getting academy youngsters into the first team has not been one of them. Maybe that will come with time .........

City has too old a squad to play Klopp's high energy, high pressing style of football.
