Game on. That performance by Bernardo Silva was simply outstanding. Both on and off the ball he was influential throughout the game.

Looking forward to tonight's game, though don't think you'll slip up now Liverpool have piled the pressure on.
We haven't lost away to a Top 6 side yet though...

No way back after the sending off but in truth, you didn't see much of the ball before that! Just one of those days for Wolves.
Great performance from us. Pity about the blips over Christmas but we've been sensational since. Here's hoping for good runs in the CL and FA Cup. If we keep playing like this in the league, we'll see what Liverpool are made of.

You played well last night. The first goal was excellent but after the sending off there was no chance for us to do anything but try and keep the score down really.

Yes, I agree with that. It probably wasn't much fun for Wolves fans, or even neutrals, but that's the kind of ease you welcome when you're in a title battle.

Having the PGMOL, the FA and UEFA on your payroll helps as well

How does the offside handball goal, scored by Wolves in the reverse fixture and thereby denying us 2 points, fit in with your conspiracy theory?

It's pretty quiet on here, but I suppose we should mark another League Cup win with a post.
Laporte has been superb all season but looked all at sea yesterday. Generally an off-day all round but Chelsea played well in the 2nd half and you couldn't argue if they'd have snatched a win. Interesting that through a combination of injury, fatigue and Pep's tactics, we finished the game without our main 3 in midfield. Having said that, I think Bernardo has been our best player this season and he was one of the few in fine form yesterday.
Pleased for Sterling scoring the winning penalty after all the stick he gets - he's having another very good season and has really come on leaps and bounds under Pep.
Good day all round with Liverpool drawing. Too tight to call in the title race now. After John Aldridge making stupid comments in the MEN last week, then Mark Lawrenson on Football Focus, I wonder who'll be the next Liverpool player to be falling over themselves to tell us that they're not feeling the pressure?

Didn't get back home 'til 2 am so today's gonna be a looooong day at work. Poor performance from us but the record books will show we won at Wembley and picked up a trophy.
Your right about Sterling but to be fair he's become a big game player for us over the past 12 months or so. Roll on Wednesday against West Ham.

No comment on the keeper sub? Was surprised to see the manager backtracking, but then again I guess he knows who has all the power here.

My guess is he is wasn’t actually injured at all, so created a **** storm for no reason, which Chelsea have form for.

The "misunderstanding" comments are clearly nonsense. You only have to look at what was going on on the Chelsea bench yesterday to see that. Anyway, glad they didn't bring on Willy because he may well have won it for them - I could see the headlines being written right there as he stepped up to come on.

How long is Fernandinho out for? Him being out coincided with your last dodgy run of form.

Don't know, and you're right, it is a concern. But Gundogan has played very well when called on recently. Plus, we only have 2 league games in the next month, and they are relatively kind fixtures so it may not be an issue.

Must admit, I was thinking that as I typed, but decided to commit to it anyway!
Fernandinho is one of our best players, no doubt about that. But with all we've spent, there must be players who can come in and do a job. Let's face it - I know DM isn't his main position, but he can play there, and Gundogan would walk into any other midfield in the PL plus many more around Europe.

Exquisite exhibition of passing from the Germans tonight. Fortunately, they were both wearing a blue shirt.

You've got to be favourites now for the CL.
Are City fans still not bothered about it?

I can't speak for City fans in general, but I grew up watching Liverpool/Notts Forest/Villa winning the European Cup, and although it's in a different format now, it is THE premier competition. So, of course I'm bothered, and I hope we win it.
Naturally, I'd still settle for the league and two cups, but you have to feel with some of the bigger sides gone or not on form, this may be our biggest change to win the CL.

Missed the news yesterday that Bernardo had signed a new six-year deal.
This is fantastic news, probably our best player this season.
