Well...

According to Forbes criteria, somehow your commercial revenue is higher than Barcelona's...

They seem to have quite a few sponsors.

But they have an undervalued shirt deal, no stadium deal etc etc.

Didn't realise there was 4 government owned companies sponsoring you.

Etihad
Etisalat
TCA Abu Dhabi
aabar

It would be interesting to see how much all four companies owned by the UAE government are pumping into your sponsorship pot.

Far less that BT and Sky! It's just local groups from the owners geographical area jumping on the bandwagon.

Great result today, back on form at entirely the wrong time but excellent to see.

Good result and what looked like a fabulous performance.

Has Pellegrini finally realised his best team or is it Yaya's injury that's dictating things?

According to "Sky Sports Understands", we are the first club to talk to Pogba. I could see us offering a long list of players as makeweights in the deal and this could be fantastic way getting lots of wages off the books.

Pogba would expect an absolutely phenomenonal salary if he joined City. And obviously a massive transfer fee.

He's a great player, but hardly the sort of character City need, even if he is the exact sort of player you need.

If Yaya goes then that free's up more than enough salary wise.

I was thinking that if a combination 2 or more of Yaya, Nasri, Jovetic and Dzeko went in the other direction, we'd more than cover his salary with some to spare.

As for his character, isn't he fuming about how United let him down? Sounds like exactly the sort of player we need.

No FFP restrictions this window.

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co....-boost-9238547

Still got to live within our means but I sense a massive overhaul on the way.

Ideally for me 3 or 4 bought in and 3 or 4 promoted.

All government backed, so all money actually originating from the same pot.

But it doesn't matter where it comes from as it must obviously comply with the rules.

I'm interested to see who you buy...you need top level quality now. Leave the mid tier quality for us.

That's good news - the article states that we are actually going to make a profit this year as well.

PS: An excellent piece on Milner on Football365 (Liverpool fans might want to read as well):-

The money to start the companies may have come from a single pot but they are all profit making businesses so the sponsorship will be coming from that rather than the government.

And seeing as The City take over seems to be about raising the profile of the country its understandable they would want to be on board.

Yep, we need quite a few ( 3 or 4 ) top level players and I would like to see us promote from the youth set up for squad players. I guess it depends how many players we sell/lose.

If I recall we only missed out on break even last season due to the FFP fine.

I think Milner will be a good signing on a free.

He can help solidify our midfield and he's fit enough. He's also versatile enough to fit into the wing/back positions as well.

I have no issue with industrious players. Kuyt was a legend to me and had a fantastic attitude and Milner has the same qualities.

One of my favourite recent front lineups was Kuyt, Bellamy and Suarez. They worked their ******** off and caused havoc up front.

But the fine was due to it not being 'real' income (ie related/inflated), no?
