The Return Of Halloween Month - Gottawatchemall!!

Time for my annual pilgrimage to The DVD Forums - hey guys!

What's on the menu this year then? Suggestions, reviews, comments, recommendations about whatever horrific pieces of celluloid trash you'll be indulging in over the next 31 days - share em here

I've got the Halloween Blu collection winging it's way to me from the US, hopefully it will arrive within the next few days. Also grabbed the new Leprechaun Blu boxset. And I've got a nice pile of discs made up of all kinds of dodgy looking garbage I've never seen that I've been saving up for just this occasion.

I'm attempting to beat my own personal record from last year of 35 horror flicks in 31 days. I'll probably fail miserably but it's the effort that counts.

Welcome back Juicy!

Looking forward to your reviews. Last year was hillarious. Might have a little read back through it before you start this one.

And while you're here, blow the dust off your 360 man!

One pointless, time consuming hobby at a time mate. October's **** horror flicks, we'll see what's going down in November

I've already started last week. All blu rays so far, i've watched

Exorcist II - Terrible film couldnt wait for it to end
Exorcist III - Great flick one of my Favs
Exorcist: The Beginning - Again terrible maybe even worse than Exorcist II
Trick 'R Treat - A gem of a Halloween film, that never takes itself to seriously and has just enough horror
Halloween - What can i say, wonderfully shot and paced
Halloween II - I like it better than the first. Good story and kills and it flows straight off the first film.
Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers (Producers Cut) - Interesting premise and does a good job of explaining the mess of part V and goes for the less is more approach .

Home Invasion Halloween for me, methinks.

Watched 'Kidnapped' again the other night. It's on Netflix but it's dubbed, so watch the Spanish original language version if you can. It's a terrifically nasty piece of work.

I dunno, I do so much horror anyway, I'll probably end up doing the anti-Halloween and watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure or some ****.

I'm going to go through every crappy netflix horror film I can find. Started by watching 'Would You Rather' ... Brittany Snow trying to act was horrifying
... but the film wasn't too bad.

I showed the OH the original 'Child's Play' last night. Still stands up! He was a great child actor, Andy Barclay.

We'll be working our way through them, perhaps skipping 'Bride' and 'Seed' as she's seen those two and, unlike me, rarely re-watches stuff.

I still haven't seen 'Curse of Chucky' yet.

What about cinema releases?

- Horns (Daniel Radcliff - looked pretty good from the trailer! Not what I expecting, trailer might have shown too much)
- Dracula Untold (looks pretty naff, trailer hints that it might just devolve into a CG nonsense fest towards the end)
- Ghostbusters 2 (Re-release on the 28th ... definitely up for that)
- Annabelle (Period version of Chucky remade without any sense of humour?)
- The Babadook (title of year! - saw a trailer for this yesterday. Looks cheesy)
- Life After Beth (Aubrey Plaza is funny... it might work, trailer was pretty good)

Those are just on the feeble Cineworld release list. Anything else is coming out which they aren't showing?

I'm going for a Timo TjahJanto-a-thon around Halloween.

L for Libido, Safe Haven, Macabre and finally Killers to finish off the night.

On October 25th I'm heading up to Essex where my mate's planning on getting through all the Halloweens in order. Doubt I'll make it through them all, though!

Interested in 'Horns' as it's the new Alexandre 'Switchblade Romance' Aja movie, although he's not done anything good since 06's 'The Hills Have Eyes' remake. And it's got Daniel Radcliffe in which doesn't fill me with enthusiasm.

And 'The Babadook' was a Frightfest hit. I didn't see it, but heard good things and I liked the trailer very much.

And like Prof, I'll be catching up with Walking Dead S4 now it's hit the Netflix.

I'll be lucky to get thru 30 in a month

#1 - Halloween (1978)
Can't really watch this objectively as I've seen it so many times and of course with over familiarity comes a certain amount of contempt for Michael's need to do quite so much recon before getting down to business. Never get tired of Loomis' overhyping of the villain though and the highlight of his performance is that cheeky wee grin after he scares those kids away from the Myers house. Technically brilliant and it still looks great too. Just not much in the way of "scare factor" for jaded old movie whores like myself.
