All the on-set shots I've seen so far make it look like a bad Halloween party, complete with costumes from poundland.

I don't understand how we're getting so many set photos from this when there was practically nothing for Batman V Superman or The Dark Knight films. Are Warner Bros being deliberately relaxed about it to create hype around the project?

I think they know they basically screwed up with the Joker but can't back out now because of all the press releases. So they're spamming the net with Margot Robbie looking super hot to destruct us, don't be surprised if they scale back how much the Joker is in this now because of the screw up, i had the initial impression he was going to be a huge part of the movie but if i were WB i'd scale it back to an extended cameo

Urgh, hope you're wrong about that Roberto, whether the Joker turns out crap or not we don't want another TMNT/Shredder reshoot situation!

They could always just CGI out The Joker's tats - as they do with The Rock, Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox, etc....

I think you are giving too much credence to the power of the internet.

Some internet websites/forums shouting dissaproval will change absolutely nothing in the film script/shooting/edit.

Unless they are intentionally Ab testing, it happens a lot in games so maybe the studio are trying it out with a film, as pointed out above they can change looks via CGi.

But saying that, they must be confident with the length of contracts they dished out.

Any chance you can elaborate on that TMNT thing you mention?

Well, I can't really state 100% exactly what happened tbh, whether it was last minute script changes or actual reshooting after fan backlash & extensive editing to paper up the cracks, but the original plan with the latest TMNT film was to have William Fichtner's character Eric Sachs turn out to be Shredder (the clue's in the name as well: Eric Sachs = Oroku Saki), but then there was a huge backlash online about this "whitewashing" of the character. The whole fan disappointment over the Iron Man 3/Mandarin thing also gave the studio cold feet apparently.

Now, if you watch the film, imo it is quite clear that things have been extensively reworked because Eric Sachs is ostensibly the primary antagonist & Shredder is played by possibly the least famous Japanese guy to ever play the antagonist in a Hollywood blockbustery type film (Tohoru Masamune), plus he's barely in the film and whenever he is he's always in the shadows.

To me it's quite blatant that with absolutely no time left to spare they reshot some "master" "student" scenes between Fichtner and an actor like Masamune that they could get on contract in a heartbeat, then re-edited the already shot sequences of the Shredder so it's no longer obvious that Fichtner is playing that part as well.
