I guess that means his face/ears will be all over the poster then.

Tom Hardy has dropped out of Suicide Squad, Warner Bros.’ all-star comic book movie being directed by David Ayer. Not losing a beat, the studio has made overtures to Jake Gyllenhaal, who has generated heat for his performance in Nightcrawler, to replace Hardy.

Margot Robbie has signed a 10 year deal to play Harley. thats quite a deal!.

With this director/writer, and this cast list this could be the film that gets DC finally taking on Marvel at its own game.

So much potential with this. Lets hope DC don't screw it up.

They've not done a good job IMO with the comic-book recently.

The "new 52" version started well but numerous changes with writers & it all got very messy & unimpressive. The recent "reboot" hasn't helped much either so far.

Fingers-crossed that they source storylines from the vastly superior, Ostrander run in the late 80's (of which I own all 68 original issues)...

I don't expect we'll see him in full make up for a while yet...

Yes, it's the most realistic and 'coolest' version and i think the film version will be heavily inspired by it (or it least it should)

I really don't like it. The tattoos are stupid and distracting, plus he looks like Marilyn Manson.

My heart sank when i saw that picture, it's too far removed now from the character. Looking forward to Margoe Robbie's Quinn but i'm no longer looking forward to this joker

I can't imagine the Joker would sit still long enough to get tattooed, but he's often portrayed as a masochist so would probably enjoy the pain. It's the choice of tattoos that bugs me though, it's so meta and clearly zero thought was put into it.

Urgh.

Yeah, it's like somebody who knows that the Joker exists in comics went out and did some bad cosplay. There shouldn't be any reference to the fact he's nuts - that somehow makes him less so.

Take the tatts off, stick him in the purple and green and I could even forgive the teeth grills..

Yup, hate the tats. Its not so much that they've given him tattoos its the fact that they all look to be lifted from the killing joke panel the pose is trying to recreate. So it looks like cossplay.

After initially thinking Heath Ledger was the wrong choice and having seen Leto in Dallas Buyers Club, I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Is that an actual real life picture or an artist's impression? It didn't look real to me.

Looks real to me. Heavily post-produced but definitely a photo.
