DC's Suicide Squad
Hot off the heels from Marvel's Deadpool announcement, it seems DC/Warner Bros are bringing the Suicide Squad to the big screen with David Ayer (Harsh Times, Brad Pitt's upcoming war film Fury) in the director's seat:
http://collider.com/suicide-squad-david-ayer/
Once again, a cart-before-the-horse approach from DC and Warner: we haven't yet seen the DCCU versions of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Frost etc before the big screen team up (although it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect one or two cameos in the already-crammed Batman V Superman).
I can't say I'm too surprised, as the Suicide Squad has proved pretty prolific recently, appearing in Arrow and the animated film Assault on Arkham. There's also post credit stings on the games Arkham Origins and Arkham Origins Blackgate teasing the Squad's formation.
Would be quite nice to see a DC film headed up by a gang of anti-heroes though. I wonder if the recent success of Guardians of the Galaxy had a part to play in green-lighting this project....

Well, it's been confirmed that The CW shows won't tie into the DC Cinematic Universe, so expect different actors playing any cross-characters.

Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Margot Robbie rumoured for roles:
http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=42501
Interesting if Hardy is in the running, being that he only played Bane in TDKR two years ago.
Anyway, if I were to speculate...
Hardy: King Shark
Smith: Bronze Tiger
Robbie: Harley Quinn

She has the right look for Harley Quinn though she's not very busty.

You never know, they might cast her on her acting abilities.

Collider are reporting that Robbie has signed on as Harley Quinn:
http://collider.com/harley-quinn-sui...margot-robbie/
Which is great news, if true, as it was rumoured last week that some model was going to play her.
Jared Leto has also been rumoured this weekend to be playing the Joker. A great casting choice, but the inevitable multi-picture deal would no doubt interfere with his 30STM touring.

Harley Quinn has always been depicted has having normal sized bust and almost flat chested in some cartoons!
If she can get that 1930's New York accent down Margot Robbie is an excellent choice

Have you not seen Wolf of Wall Street Roberto? Didn't think she was famous for much else tbh, but anyone who's seen her in that film shouldn't have any problem with her casting as Quinn.

Her New Yorker accent in that film was pretty impressive for an Aussie and, funnily enough, it's fairly similar to Harley's. She's also got the right combination of sassiness and smuttiness with the energy to pull it off.

Christ. If there's a more annoying character than Harley Quinn please don't bring it to my attention.

True, but the current "New 52" incarnation is the complete opposite & I suspect (and hope ) they go with that option as the original Dini creation wouldn't work outside the animated world IMO.

Try & avoid the (fairly) recently introduced 'Joker's Daughter' in the comics.
The most irritating, poorly thought-out character to appear in a DC comic for decades (& that's saying something).

Gyllenhaal would have been better, but I guess they could have done a lot worse! Very strange they they've gone back to Tom Hardy to play a different role, I guess the thinking is that you didn't really see his face clearly all that much in Returns.
