Seems thought that the wired controller is rare as anything currently and demanding a premium
So if went wireless, what adaptor do I have to buy ?

If you went for the 8bitdo above it might not need it, really hard to find out as when searching I only find the adaptor working the other way, allowing Xbox controllers to work with just about anything else. However if I’m wrong it’s this one
8Bitdo Wireless Bluetooth Adapter for Windows/Mac/Raspberry Pi (Nintendo Switch) https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0786J...ing=UTF8&psc=1

Cheers.
Think will go that route unless anyone can suggest anything better
It’s been great watching her progress and learn

Just my 2 cents but I don't think that will work. The controller is for Android / XCloud use. The adapter isn't for Xbox.
Argos and Smyths both sell a cheap £14.99-£17.99 'Rock Candy Mini' wired Xbox controller. I'm sure it's cheap for a reason but it should do the job (combine with a USB extension if the lead isn't long enough).

Cheers, yes, just watched some YouTube
Does seem as if it’s cloud gaming and the dongle is to use existing controllers on devices such as switch
Can’t see anything about that one working on Xbox. Shame as looks a quality piece of kit and something I’d use myself for platformers.
I shall have a look at the rock candy

They’ve backed down on the price increases and have made ‘Free-to-play’ games actually free and not required to have a Live subscription

Well that is handy, I apparently own assassins creed odyssey and prison architect!
I did a spreadsheet of all my Xbox games last year, ones I had on disk, ones I had installed but finished/sold and tracked down ones bought but not installed (from my emails) but no where oh the console did it sone those 2. Maybe I got them via a free games gold month? Can’t think I’d have paid!
On the list was past cure [which I got last year for birthday and was sat in my shelves. Gosh it’s quite poor. Up to level 5 of 7 now and then it’s done. The germ of good ideas are there.

I’ve been playing a lot of older games or spiritual successors to older games. I used to love the Descent games and I wanted to play Overload which I’m happy to say is everything Descent was and a whole lot more. Overload is Descent in all but name with story missions, challenge mode and multiplayer. I highly recommend it to everyone, it is just so much fun.
I’ve also played the supposedly remastered Forsaken. It is much more tactical with a minimum number of lives adding to the risk so it tends to make you play at a slower pace. It doesn’t look as polished but it has loads more levels than whichever version you played before because it has all levels from the PS1 and N64 versions as well as some new ones as well. I’ve read that there may be some saving issues i.e. you shouldn’t save mid-mission but not seen any issues.
Either game plays great with very similar controls so it easy to jump between them. However, I would highly recommend Overload if you had to pick one - it is awesome. I have uploaded some clips to the activity feed if you want to check out some gameplay.

I’ve just put 130 plus hours into divinity original sin 2
I’ve not devoted so much time to a game since original kotor (which I completed the weekend it came out in pretty much one sitting just napping in chair)
I loved it. Seemed to fly by. Never dragged and is everything I want from an RPG

I must be 80+ hours in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Massive game. Almost up there with RDR and Witcher 3.

Grabbed Celeste on GamePass and yikes, it's a tough one!
Enjoying it though, so long as I restrict my sessions to half an hour or so, to limit the frustration.

It’s great when you get completely engrossed not just in the game and it’s systems but every nuance of its world and characters. I’ve got both of the Divinity Original Sin games and would like to play them and give them the time I know they deserve but it is difficult to get into games with such depth when realistically I have a couple of hours after work to play. With RPGs like this you just get back up to speed with where you left off and maybe make a bit of progress but then have to stop playing.
I have both KotOR games installed on my Xbox and would like to play them through - didn’t play the second and didn’t get far with the first back in the day. I would like to play the Dragon Age games properly too. Today I played one of the origin stories of DA:O and forgot how good this game was.

Played some Condemned: Criminal Origins. Awesome and brutal game; it so underrated. I have previously played through it getting all the collectibles and gaining all 970 achievement points - yeah I know, they couldn’t count or something there just isn’t 1000.
As part of my ‘play only games from before 2010 initiative’ (unless they are spiritual successors) I just started Hitman 2 Silent Assassin. Took a while to get used to how you select actions but it was good to get a silent Assassin rating on that first mission. Sure the visuals may not be up-to-date but the gameplay is still pure Hitman gold.
Also played some Battlezone. You know what this game takes what was good about a simple premise and adds so much to it without all that extra stuff being a distraction from the immediacy of combat. Sure it has modern day trappings like procedurally generated levels, XP and rogue-like progression but it is all integrated so well into the gameplay you can’t really complain. Loads of potential mission types, enemy units, types of installations and weapons to choose from and upgrade, abilities to buy at the end of each battle as you move over the hexagonal map grid that each mission is played out on. The devs could have just made a flash arcade tank game and they obviously put a lot of thought into it. No I can’t play it in VR and while I’ve read “it is 10 x better in VR” I somehow think that is a slight exaggeration. You can look around by holding one of the thumb stick buttons in but it usually results in you not paying enough attention to the more immediate threats.

The 30 GS was for some future DLC that they didn’t do in the end
