Use £200 cash and get both. But yes, if it's a case of one or the other and you go for an Xbox at the moment you're mad.

At the moment the difference I can see between xbone and PS4 is the one plays games at 1080 and the other at 900, not even worth worrying about.

I actually have both consoles and have barely used either because PC gaming has taken over again (only games that support controller pads)
I always preferred the Xbox 360 to the PS3, but If I were to advise someone to buy, who didn't want to buy in to PC gaming I would most likely advise them to get a PS4.

Some games run at 720p vs 1080p though, and that is a big difference (Hello Metal Gear Solid 5)

I too now have both and whilst the extra power of the PS4 will soon start to make more of a difference as time goes on (My original argument of how developers will get more from the Xbox One and get games to run better / faster / high res must also be true of the PS4 thus should logically be the console of choice for multi platform titles) my current console of choice is the Xbox One
Thats down to battlefield 4 and Dead Rising though, and I then question was Dead Rising worth best part £500 ?
I think all of us who are early adopters know the risks and cant complain
After all I have a CD 32 with Diggers in the attic !

If Titanfall didn't exist I'd say you'd be mental go get a Xbox over PS4, but it does exist and from the beta it seems pretty damn good. (I'd still get the PS4 though if I could only have one of them)

Agree with that. I love the XboxOne one despite some of the very annoying OS choices and the Kinect. No buyers remorse at all. Dead Rising and Titanfall have been the most fun next gen titles and by far the best exclusives so far. But the PS4's OS is so much better than the XboxOne. So much simpler and more user friendly. Xbox have taken half working gimmicky **** to the next level.

There is more to a console than it being a slightly better machine. I.e. Community, controller and OS.

Yeah, but it's not like the PS4 doesn't deliver on those points...

Indeed daboy3000, and the Xbox 360 was far ahead of the PS3 on all those things IMO.
But now, the Xbox one seems to have gone backwards in some respects (O/S, chat etc) and the PS4 has leaped forwards. Never liked the Dualshock /2/3 but the PS4 controller is good, other than a short battery life.

I don't think the controllers are equal, ignoring the dumb light that you can't turn off the dualshock 4 still has the left analog stick in the wrong place, is way too light and has cheap triggers compared to the xboxone controller
I don't know how they made the triggers better then the 360, but somehow they did
Also 40 hours vs 7!?

To be fair the batteries in the DS4 are rechargeable for free, and I've always found the Xbox triggers very tiring.

Most people won't notice any difference between 900 and 1080, unless it makes a difference to you personally I would go with the console that has the games you want.
