The XBox One Thread Pt3 - discuss!
Looks like the other thread has maxed out (which I didnt realise was still a thing...), so starting off a new one...
To continue the Dead Rising chat, still not sold on DR3, I think i may give it a miss and hold out for something else..

Woah, multiple threads ahoy
It's just not your type of game i think
As a dead rising fan i think 3 is fantastic, they've made it so accessible it's just fun to explore the huge city
Vaderag
The main missions on dead rising 3 will never expire, there is no time limit, however the side missions do but you get so long to do them!
Also consider you can save anywhere and anything you've found a blueprint to can be stored in your weapons locker, so everything is much quicker to get hold of for your zombie killing
The story is silly as it should be, Boss using a rascal type silly
Also, there is a demo to try out dude
But the game is not for everyone
Tony G
I rescued every single survivor in DR 1 & 2, got every combo weapon in 2 and completed both stories to their overtime conclusions, the games are just really challenging, the mechanics are not broken
I would argue that being able to save anywhere in DR3 is very much a broken mechanic as it removes all threat

Would it be possible, when we start these new threads, the last 10 or so threads from each one could somehow be attached to the start ?

Wish they'd hurry up and release some more story driven stuff on the One tho...

How are people finding DR3 - is it fun? I'm not really a 'survival horror' fan, but i get the impression it's less Resident Evil and more GTA?

Nope, it auto saves and everything. There is a 'timer' but there's no time limit at all.

It's brilliant fun, doesn't take itself too seriously like Resident Evil does.
*shameless plug* I've got a copy for sale in the Classifieds if you're interested *shameless plug*

Does it get better, what am i missing here as it just seems like a kiddies game to me.

It's not great, but it's biggest flaw is it's very heavy on microtransactions

Everything this gen seems to be heavy on the micro transactions.
I had an e-mail from PopCap about the new Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare, and it said pre-order and get 2 booster packs (or something similar - looked like trading card packs) but they apparently give your characters a boost or something...

I wasn't defending it - quite the opposite. Annoys the hell out of me...
Edit: here's the pic

Double edit:
Found a bit more info on the web

Players unlock these, in addition to costume pieces, new classes of each playable character, and more like taunt animations through booster pack purchases.
Not unlike Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer, Plants vs. Zombie: Garden Warfare rewards players with heaps of coins. You’ll then take those coins to the Flower Shop where varied packs of unlockables wait for purchase. You can spend more coins per pack and ensure rare unlocks, but spend less per pack and you'll replenish your stores of plantable defenses or team-revive power-ups.

It's sad to say to my knowlege the only microsoft exclusive game that doesn't have microtransaction/booster packs so far is dead rising 3, maybe max too
They've patched xp you earn in forza and powerstar golf already, so maybe it'll drop off
Saying that i saw a warframe pack on ps4 last night for £109 so maybe not!

I can can forgive free to play games having micro-transactions as it's their only source of revenue, games that charge you £50 then add micro-transactions not so much.
Saying that, anyone that's prepared to spend £109 on Warframe deserves all they get.

I don't care if games have microtransactions as long as they don't impact the game in any way i.e. Forza 5. Massive hoo-ha about that but in no way did it affect the game.
