The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013

I've now read it was over the six years of his proposed Real contract. I doubt he'd even be there that long the way that club turns around.

Blimey...

It's a bit of a crappy deal, in the fact that you can't buy a player with the payments you're receiving.

But I suppose if it leads to a higher transfer fee, then it may be why Levy went for it.

£33 million I suppose would have been at the higher end of what he was worth.

The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013

Supposedly it's one of the big sticking points in that Levy and Lewis don't want installments.

Capoue set to sign - surely that paves the way for Livermore/Parker/Huddlestone to leave.

Strange signing considering the weakness of our left backs, unless he’s primarily going to be a central defender? Last few years have shown that it’s not that easy to shift deadwood, can’t see many teams matching Hudd or Parker’s wages and paying a fee. Livermore is not good enough but is presumably a better option in reserve as a low earner (and Spurs supporter so unlikely to moan too much)

We played Enfield behind doors yesterday for some reason, 11-0 with a Soldado hat trick

Yes I think we have a team of central mids now!. Think he is primarily CB cover but also deep lying playmaker. The hudd will be off. Also Parker I think.

I'll be slightly gutted if Parker goes, fancied he'd end up at QPR at some point though.

Line-up v Espanyol: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Fryers, Rose, Dembele, Chadli, Paulinho, Lennon, Soldado, Sigurdsson

It's being shown live on ITV4 if anybody's interested

Really like the look of Soldado, very busy striker, did more work off the ball in 60 mins than Adebayor's done since he's been at Spurs.

Spurs want Suarez

Daily Star says Spurs now want Luis Suarez and will have to do it if Bale moves to Madrid. Bayern, Arsenal, Real, Zenit and Spurs are circling around Suarez. Spurs will have money from Bale sale (again, if it happens) but cannot offer champions league football which is what Suarez wants. Bayern can.

Don't know if this report holds water or just another crap churned out by press.

Surely he can't go without another striker coming in?

Yeah, that would be totally unheard of.

Parker to QPR for £2m? Good deal for both clubs, he is still good enough for the PL and we got a fee so win/win IMO. He was fantastic for us in 2011/12 but last year showed his limitations which were only going to be further highlighted this season if indeed he would have made it onto the pitch.

Livermore out on loan to Hull apparantly. Capoue in and Huddlestone out would complete the central midfield positions.

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013

Do you reckon Sigurdsson will have a bigger role this season with Demlsey gone, or do you think Dembele will be just be pushed further forward with Paulinho and Sandro behind him?
