You can export a Twitter widget from Twitter to embed as code.

I've done it on a couple of (non WP) sites and it works well.

Just in case you get stuck...

I ended up creating a Twitter widget from https://twitter.com/settings/widgets and putting the code into the html/php widget (this may be another plugin or built in, can't remember) within Wordpress. Its pretty minimal so allows me to style it the way I want.
Thanks!

It's not exactly the same, but it looks good to me.

I might have a play with the code when I get a chance and see if I can make it more like the original widget, but there's no rush.

Thanks,

Thanks all, this has been a good resource of tips as I found it all a bit daunting to begin with. Finished my first web-site for the mrs and her new online store as the old one was done in the absolutely awful 1and1 software (useless, avoid like the plague)
Took the prevailing advice and went with Vidahost for my own site (still in progress) and hers, and with a theme on wordpress. Her site took me 14 days from scratch and I'm personally chuffed to bits and enjoyed doing it far more than I thought I would. It'll need some fine tuning but what do you think? http://minted-uk.com

Looks great Sprout! Very professional indeed.

Which e-commerce/cart solution did you go with in the end?

It's woocommerce. Doddle to set up. Paypal integrated nicely and will be doing HSBC's global iris as well when she gets it sorted.
I'm well pleased with the slider. It's a bit tricky to choreograph things but looks nice when it's finished. Apparently the sales directors at the New Zealand Mint love it and phoned up the mrs to thank here(?) I can't moan; I got a free Dr Who coin.

Looks great, nice clean design, nothing too flashy. I really like the slider, stylish and eye-catching.

I installed WooCommerce a couple of a weeks ago to have a play and does look a doddle. However good to see the end result on a working site.

Also noticed its responsive so on an iPad you don't have the sliders but a grid instead.

Works great on a phone as well. Just stacks one thing on top of another.

I want to re-style my WooCommerce product page. Whats the best way to do this?

Will be selling art prints and basically want to get rid of the grid view and have each image listed vertically with a Buy/Add to cart button beneath each one. Is there an easy way instead of hacking CSS files?

Great photography and website!

It took me back to my trip to New Zealand and few years ago.

Has anyone ever successfully imported a Wordpress site?

Done the export / import thing and the original site must be huge as I've had to import it four times as it keeps stopping. On the plus side it seems to remember where it was and keeps adding new files to what has already been imported.

No themes or banner images have come across Are they supposed to? In theory I guess it isn't too bad to download and install the theme and grab the banner from the previous site.

Themes, images and stuff you upload are not stored in the database. They are files on your site folder.

This guide pretty much says it all - http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
