If Bairstow had stopped that ball they would have needed 16 instead of the 13. Boom Boom on strike now so this is going to be interesting.

We can forgive Bairstow for that poor bit of fielding now as that was a superb throw to Kieswetter.

Brilliant last over from Dernbach. Pakistan paid big time for letting KP hit a six from the final ball of the innings. England's lowest total that they have defended.

The test series defeat seems quite a while ago now.

If it helps that really wasn't much between the two teams it is just England held their nerve at the end because with only 30 runs to get you guys were in the driving seat but you seemed to buckle under the pressure plus you struggled against our bowling especially the penultimate over by Broad that only went for four and that was a mis-field.

It contains fab footage of the Windies great team of the 70s and 80s, great socio-historical context, and the notorious footage of Tony Greig stating that he was going to make the West Indies players "grovel", and their uncompromising response to him.

Gripping viewing.
Thanks.
Just watched it - it was ace

Morgan pays the price for his woeful tour as he is dropped from the Test squad in place of Samit Patel. James Tredwell also called up to replace Graham Onions.

You can't argue with Morgan being dropped as the conditions in Sri Lanka will be similar to what they have played in here, but you have to ask that if they can drop Morgan due to poor form then why didn't they do the same when KP was struggling ?

KP has years of good service behind him with England which goes a long way and every now and then despite playing badly KP chipped with massive scores. Plus Morgan was appalling throughout this tour where KP was incedible in the ODIs and T20 games. If Morgan had shown his worth in the ODI series I bet he wouldn't have been dropped.

Not in the one day side he didn't, I'm not sure what his average was since his last one day hundred but it was pretty low wasn't it ?

But as you say he looks back in form so hopefully he can continue this good form throughout the Sri Lanka tour that starts at the end of March.
