It's not a sticking point. We are now in the same position as we were 31 years ago. Only the premiership to go for & in those days Man city did not have unlimited funds not to mention the rest of the chasing pack whilst we are playing poorly with & without the injured players.

I can't believe you are just completely disregarding the 2nd best European competition in all of Europe.

So basically, if you ignore the fact we're still in two competitions, we're out of all competitions in January?

Stupendous logic Micon. Bravo. (You can't see / hear, but i'm giving you a slow-clap).

What's happened to you Rusty? You used to be interesting to read, but recently you try to cover up everything with sarcastic & flippant remarks.

Also, how the hell do you reason that we are in the same position as we were in 1981 anyway? At that time we'd gone 14 years without a title - absolutely no comparison to the period we have experienced under Fergie.

micon, until you explain how we are 'out of all it' while we're 2nd in the league and sadly the favourite to win the europoor league, you sound like a ******* idiot.

Supporting Manchester United in the first place?

Manchester United are far from oput of the title race. I predict a win for United tomorrow and I can't see City getting all 3 points against Everton.. If they do I'll be very pleasantly surprised. Some folk on here need to 'man up'. There are loads of twists and turns yet.

PS Manchester United are light years ahead of where they were 31 years ago

Did you extend Owen or is he still on his original contract?

Someone like him sat on 50k a week being chopped would be a good start.

I respect Phil Neville more and more, as he left to get football and could have been sat picking up easy money week in, week out.

Now I feel dirty...

Isn't Owen pay as you play? I don't think he's costing us anything.

I thought he had a basic 50k a week contract, then a pay to play bonus on top...?

I could be wrong though...it's been known.

United extended his contract as he was originally on a two-year deal.

I think it was two years with an option of a third.

Me too

Not sure to be honest. Given that he almost certainly wouldn't be replaced, I'd rather keep him on the off-chance he does get fit when we'd need him towards the end of the season.

In 2 and a bit injury hit seasons he's scored 17 in 52 appearances. Even allowing for the quality of some of the opposition he's played, that's a pretty good return. I'd guess a lot of those 52 appearances were subs too.

Actually I didn't edit it. I was copying & pasting on a new laptop & the original should still be there & a new post by myself should be here. For some reason neither happened, I don'r know if it can be un eddited. Sorry for any confusion.
