A real shame for Savic, he did look decidedly dodgy. I thought he shackled Defoe superbly in the first half against Spurs, but went on to make the mistakes and he's under the microscope all the time now. More than that, the opposition will be constantly targetting him. The only way that he's going to make it now is to show some character and put in some good performances when he gets the chance.

Kompany has indeed been missed so we'll need him when we play our bogey team next Tuesday.

Barry looked lethargic to me.

The City team to start tonight:-

Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Barry, Milner, Silva, Nasri, Dzeko, Aguero.

That's what I would have gone for

Walton reffing we never ever win when he is in charge. I don't think City have won a game with him in the middle since 2009 (or so I'm told)

Protest about Ryanair according to Twitter (once the seemingly false reporting that it was Jimmy Jump was sorted).

What a loon!

and there you go!! If you don't create the chances you don't deserve to win.

Well done to the Everton folk on this forum

2112: Frederic Veseli, who was part of the Switzerland side that won the Under-17 World Cup in 2009, never really got a look in at Manchester City, although he did play on their pre-season tour of the United States last summer. On his move to Old Trafford, Veseli said: "I am very happy and it is an honour to sign for Manchester United. Manchester United has a long history of younger players coming through and hopefully I can follow and do the same."

2110: DONE DEAL
Manchester United have signed 19-year-old Swiss defender Frederic Veseli from neighbours Manchester City.

Not sure about Waltons record when it comes to reffing City games but it was clear from the start that he gave decisions to Everton based on the volume from the crowd and ignored almost everything going the other way.Based on a number of challenges in recent weeks, you would have to count Drenthe as lucky to have stayed on the park, Moyes was savvy enough to sub him off immediately after he lucked out with only a yellow.

Although City may have had 2 pens, one for a foul and one for a possible handball against Neville, I would have to say Moyes must have told his team to get in and around Citys overpaid "stars" who didnt look up for the challenge.

Dzeko looked rubbish and also fairly disinterested in the proceedings and I would have to say a bore draw would have been a fair result, though thanks to Gareth Barry again turning his back on the ball, Gibsons decent strike found its way in.

You're dead right - it's not a case of not taking the chances, we just aren't creating them.

We played well in the midfield in terms of passing and possession, but as in recent weeks, we don't seem to be creating decent chances around the box. Don't know why Mancini brought Johnson on for Milner as all he seems to do is stand around on the touchline waiting for the ball. He did have a couple of decent runs but needs to get more involved when given the chance.

Everton defended very well last night and by that alone deserved to win the game. I think that City have to involve the wingers/full backs more as that seems to be where we create more chances and goals (Dzeko's goals against Wigan and Liverpool, Ageuro's and Lescott's against Spurs etc.). It seems that unless we have a wonder pass or strike (e.g. De Jong against Liverpool and Nasri against Spurs) then it doesn't lead to a goal down the middle. Maybe we're missing Yaya in that respect.

Still, we have a good run of matches now (4 at home in the next 6) whilst United and Spurs have some very hard games, so all is not lost.

I saw the Nasri shot and follow up from Aguero (just after the HT whistle at WHL and my stream switched... ). A little unlucky there - and a good save from Howard for the latter.

The handcuffed guy thing was just bizarre.

Its not good we lost but there we go. We just didn't manage to take our chances and in the second half Everton defended really well. and Everton have always been a bogey team of ours so good on them

We are really missing Yaya, Hopefully Pizzaro will do the business for us the same as Vieira did, Looking at Youtube ( not the best for making judgement calls ) he will happily sit in front of the defence and pass the ball up with some nice accuracy. could be whats needed to get our attack going again.

Was surprised at Mancini's post-match comments last night. Very honest of him to take the blame for the defeat but why on earth would you underestimate a trip to Goodison?

Watching the game against Fulham, I'm surprised they are still using the yellow ball, its hard to make out. They should have switched to a red ball.

They used to use an Orange ball didn't they, I would have thought that would have stood out a bit better. The same problem is happening in the Birmingham/Southampton game with the yellow ball.

Yes! I remember those now. Showing my age. Watching the game live here in America, it was fun watching the guys clear the lines on the pitch.

Fair play City fans! I loved the song when 5mins went up on the board - to the tune of Sloop John B "We're *********** freezing, and want to go home" picked up beautifully by the Sky mics

Well that was an experience of a game. Luckily I wore about 20 layers and was fairly toasty warm, felt sorry for the linemen who looked freezing. Some Fulham nutters were there the whole game with their tops off, I'm too long in thr tooth for that kind of carry on.

3-0 was fairly kind to us but some of our front play was superb and I felt we deserved the 3 points. Will hope Chelsea can do us a favour today to put some daylight between us and Manchester United. I very rarely watch United games but might give it a go today
