I imagine if you added the signing-on fee and salaries over the term of contract, there would be an even more shocking difference.

Wouldn't even be in the same ball-park. We don't know for sure, but it's probably a safe bet that their 5 highest paid players cost them £1m+ a week, would Liverpool's be even half that??

Cant really agree with you there, it was a great game, but nothing about Man City is good for the PL.

You lot are so wrong. City players are paid peanuts and are only there for the 'project' and for the good of Manchester.

Ah yes-the City haters should be proud that in these days of inflated wages we should be proud that bastions of altruism such as us, united and spurs are only paying 60 to 90 thousand pounds a week.
It's almost back to the days of slavery...

ah, but that doesn't matter, it's not for the good of the game like at City!

Thought it was a good game.

Best second half performance from us this season I thought. We really did go for it, and had the better of the chances.

Lucas was great today, comes to something when you see him physically dominating Yaya. Adam despite being slow as dishwater, still somehow manages to look like he has time on the ball and keeps the attack ticking over nicely.

I think we're fortunate that De Jong was left on the bench as they lacked their usual snap in midfield and we were able to get to their defence.

Suarez was the usual pain the neck he is for opposing defences, but Downing needs to learn how to bloody shoot. Pity Bellamy couldn't play, but it was understandable.

Players from both sides put on an entertaining game, and we've shown in the last couple that we can match anyone. Fulham game will be tricky, hopefully they have an off day, Zamora causes us issues usually.

Yup. I would have taken a draw when my Sky+ died but having seen MOTD2 we were unlucky to lose.
I actually also thought Balotelli was unlucky to be sent off.

Great stat from the BBC website

Quote:
City only had seven shots on goal and their previous low for the season was 14 (against Villa and Newcastle)
Fantastic defending from our boys.

suarez needs to cut this out... its ridiculous.

he isn't going to get decisions he actually deserves if he keeps trying to deceives refs in this way.

i hope KD and SC will address it soon... should have been nipped in the bud earlier.

Agreed, you can see it already, refs dont trust him and his theatrics and many of the genuine fowls against him go unpunished. It just takes the attention away from his undoubted skills which is a shame.

Exactly the same as Ronaldo. He got nothing in his last few seasons at Utd - made him all the more determined though.

he isn't getting the decisions he deserves because Fergie has already called him a "diver" and the refs just listen to everything Fergie says [ our very next game against Norwich being a case in point ]

And I am the only person seeing clear contact between Kompany's and Suarez's boots ? Doesn't mean it's a foul but there is definitely contact.

Possibly a foul on Suarez, possibly not, possibly a foul by Suarez.......... but not really the point. The issue is that Suarez is not going to be hurt from that, more likely Kompany would, yet Suarez goes down as if he's been set on fire.......no need to behave like that and not what I want to see from Liverpool players.

My argument would be you make it sound like he is the only player in the league who does it - which is clearly not the case and he is definitely not the worst one.

Not saying it makes it right but let's start seeing other players getting ripped to shreads about it. As I said, Suarez's actions have barely warranted a mention until Ferguson outright called him a "diver".
