Children have the capacity to learn, so nothing like telling a child off to be honest.

A real shame. Liverpool the better team and City took a battering in the second half. City really should have been down to 9 men too.

Good for the rest of the league to see City are fallible, especially with their undisciplined players.

Completely understandable why he didn't play but I think Bellamy would have made a difference today. Him and Suarez would have tore the city defence apart.

Not sure how I feel about that result though, we should have won.

Downing is culpable for us not winning. He should have squared it off to Carroll just after Carroll header was saved

Absolutely spot on - City should be extremely grateful for a point and how the **** Kompany wasn't sent off I'll never know !!!

EDIT: Possibly the sight of Balotelli being escorted from the pitch by a police after being disowned by Mancini.

Sky Sports reporting that City will be writing a cheque to Liverpool FC tomorrow morning.

Balotteli gone bat-**** crazy in the dressing room and caused some damage.

Agreed, he should really have been off on more than one occasion after the initial booking.

Should have won today. I frightened the life out of my 3 year old when Adam shot in the first half, only for Hart to get his leg on it! Kompany should have been off, but Reina also lucky with the handball, although don't think it was a stone waller has it rebounded off his leg. We played really well but lack the finishing prowess as usual. Suarez a bit isolated. Lucas was awesome, but there were a few sloppy moments at the back which could have cost us. Henderson anonymous on the right as usual. Downing shooting very poor today.

Great performance from us. Could easily have been a win with some better finishing, or Hart having a slightly poorer game.

The official Manchester City match report is hilarious

Quote:
With Luis Suarez giving a good impression of a dying swan under almost every challenge, as well as asking Martin Atkinson to show a yellow card to his tormentors, the City players’ patience was being tested at times.

Barry, Kompany and Balotelli found their way into the official’s notebook while Skrtel and Henderson’s persistent fouling went unpunished – as did the infuriating fawnings of Suarez.
and also factually inaccurate.

Quote:
A few of the Liverpool players had been talking up the meeting between the teams in the Press - as you’d expect - with the odd line of ‘especially when you think of the money they’ve spent’ – or quotes to that effect.

If they were accurate, the fact is there was very little difference in terms of transfer fees paid between the two starting XIs – but such trivialities don’t make good headlines and as Mark Twain once said, “Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story.”
There is very little difference, as long as you consider £60m very little. After all, it's only half as much again as the Liverpool XI cost.

Liverpool:

Reina 6m
Johnson 17.5m
Skrtel 6.5m
Agger 5.8m
Enrique 6.3m
Lucas 6m
Adam 7m
Henderson 16m
Kuyt 9m
Downing 20m
Suarez 23m
Total 123.1m

Manchester City:

Hart 1.5m
Richards 0m
Clichy 7m
Lescott 22m
Kompany 6.7m
Milner 26m
Barry 12m
Yaya Toure 24m
Nasri 22m
Silva 25m
Aguero 38m
Total 184.2m

Figures (in both cases) from wwww.transferleague.co.uk

Terrific game to watch - probably the best contest I've seen this season. Both sides giving everything, good tempo, good job from the ref not whistling for every foul and just a good advert for English football IMO. More home points dropped but the away form amazingly is making up for it at the moment. Just got to find the same levels against the weaker teams starting with Fulham a week tomorrow.

SO annoyed. Had guests round so had GP and match in record. As it happened I managed to watch the GP so avoided all results and commentary even driving home at 5.30. Started watching the match as had sky+ both sports only to find a technical fault meant recording stopped at half time......!
