Kaboul's pace against Agbonlahor! What a tackle!

Comfortable so far but need a third to put it to bed.

Really good first half, I would like to see more chances created though but it's been a solid performance. Unfortunately that has happened before this season and we end up sitting back to soak up pressure in the 2nd half (Wigan and Blackburn spring to mind).

Great first half. Bale and Lennon look to be getting back to their best and with Walker and Benny backing up, it's causing them no end of problems. Just hope we don't fall off and keep the pressure on.

You really are on drugs. This is consistently the best football we've played in the 31 years I've been watching Tottenham. We've got an incredibly well balanced first eleven and yet you are pining for a perennially crap Russian that has had numerous opportunities to stake a place and always come up short.

You call Pav perenally crap even though he's our best striker besides Adebayor? I think that makes you the one on drugs

Defoe's scored 4 goals in the 4 minutes he's been on the pitch this season. I imagine his goals to minutes ratio is as good as just about anyone's in the PL. I'd say hes a little better than Pav.

That was far far too easy. Aston Villa were wretched. Still, will take that!

3rd...

McLeish seems to be doing a good job in making them Birmingham MkII.

Fantastic spell for us at the moment, aside from the brilliance of Parker and King....Kaboul is really stepping up to the plate at the moment.

Remaining league fixtures for this half of the year:

West Brom v Tottenham
Tottenham v Bolton
Stoke v Tottenham
Tottenham v Sunderland
Tottenham v Chelsea
Norwich v Tottenham
Swansea v Tottenham

Some tricky ones in there and the unbeaten run has to end at some point but nothing to say that we could avoid losing all of those matches.

Any word on the rescheduled Everton match?

It's a midweek evening in January I think. Was announced a while back.

Agree that Kaboul had a great game tonight, couldn't really fault any of them.

Spurs looked good tonight but how bad were 8th placed Villa? Bloody awful just watching you pass the ball around them. That certainly wasn't entertainment for the neutral.

I think every player was on top form tonight, I can't fault anyone. For me the best team performance since Redknapp took over. It makes it even more frustrating that we only scored two. It was a Jol-esq performance but without the goals. Can't blame adebayor too much for the header but if you're one-on-one like that you've really got to force the keeper to do something.

First clean sheet since Liverpool and our third win by more than a goal in a row, although it was a close call last time. Our best start since 1967 apparently, we would have all laughed if you'd told us after the first two games. Need to keep it up though, a win at The Hawthorns would see us 7pts better off than last season, which is good until you note that Liverpool are 8pts better off and Arsenal, who finished above us, 5pts better off. All this with Dawson out and Gallas not even playing

I did the BBC predictor last night and I made us 3rd and 9 points clear after the everton game. A tad optimistic perhaps but I think it's certainly within our capabilities

Very impressive performance, complete domination across the pitch, both with the ball and on rare occasions, without.

It’s a shame City aren’t in a whole different ballpark as otherwise Harry’s not wrong in suggesting we can challenge.

I would say that: Friedal, VDV, Bale, Modric, Parker and Ade all amongst top few in their positions in the league, King also when fit. That is 7 top class players and if Lennon can consistently play like last night then he can be added to that. Kaboul and Walker not quite there but seem to be getting better all the time. As I’ve said, not in the BAE fan club but he certainly isn’t a disaster. Add to that the depth we have then I can’t see us really getting weaker as the season goes on unless we were very unlucky with injuries.

Only signing I’d make is a top centre half as we will struggle away from home without King though not going to happen unless we get rid of Bassong and/or Gallas.

Certainly a joy for those of us that grew up on Dozzell, Edinburgh and Armstrong.

Chris or Gerry? Although according to the Wikipedia, even Chris had a better goals/game ratio than Pav.

The less said about Gerry the better.

Yeah, he wasn’t that bad in terms of goal record but he was no Teddy, my idol as a kid. He also always looked really sad and unhappy which maybe makes me remember him as being worse than he was. How about Andy Booth for a hapless forward in surely one of the weirdest loan signings ever. (not one I hear Pleat mention on his commentaries).

Pav is ok imo, an above average EPL forward. It just makes me laugh that some of our fans seem to think he is our saviour whilst the far more useful Defoe seems to get lots of criticism.

Pav has scored some beautiful, technically wonderful goals however when he gets a run of games he seems to break up attacks more than contribute to them with sloppy passes and wild speculative shots. I don't think he is a bad player by any means but he was a panic buy for us in the first place and we should just cut our losses in January and get a replacement.
