Don't think Harry will last long in prison - not with that ticker.

I thought Parker was fantastic yesterday. Got stuck in, didn't appreciate the heart-in-mouth inducing ankle clutching etc after outstretched tackles, but that's the measure of the man!

Apparently VDV went off holding his hamstring for the Netherlands the other night, hopefully it isn't too serious. I guess if he is out then we shouldn't be too badly off as Defoe seems to have found some form again after a season in the doldrums plus I think two dedicated strikers up front suits us well.
God help us if Adebayor gets injured. Wages might scupper any permanent move for him but am I being idealistic to think that if we qualify for CL he might relish the thought of being an automatic first choice in a team playing good football for less money?

I thought it was confirmed that Redknapp is to stand trial on the 23rd January?
In other news, Leandro Damiao's agent is claiming that Arsenal and us have bid for him, certainly looks talented enough and if he transitions as well as Sandro has then it would be a great move.

That's odd because I had read in a few places recently that it was the other way round.

not sure what result we want from Chelsea-Liv. Presumed we'd be fighting with Liv and Arse for fourth but Chelsea looking really poor right across the team. Draw (stopping anyone getting 3 points) probably best for us, but definitely encouraging in terms of it potentially being 4 sides competing for 3rd AND 4th rather than just 3 sides for 4th.
Though if they keep falling, expect big bids for Modric and maybe Bale in Jan..

I wanted a draw yesterday but a Liverpool win is better than a Chelski one. The result is the same though, if we win tonight, and we must, then we're 3rd with a game in hand. If the results go to form we could be 3rd with a sizeable gap when we play Chelsea! Can't see us catching the top 2 but as long as we're comfortably 3rd and get to the EL final/semi that'd be a good season. We should have finished 3rd the last two seasons so we're more than capable.
About Adebayor, he's okay but he hasn't scored in about a month. While he's miles better than Crouch I'm not convinced he's better than Pav.

expressed a bit harshly (!) but I'm with DY. His finishing has been a bit rusty and goal record isn't great but if you actually watch the games you can see his contribution and it's a hell of a lot more than Pav. He is essentially an effective version of Crouch, quick strong, great movement, keeps the ball well...the goals will come. I do also wonder whether we'll keep him if he does too well.
I also think he was looking sharp with Defoe, shame that with VDV fit we're back to one up front.

Is there another Benoit on the pitch? He has been pretty excellent although always have my heart in my mouth when he brings a challenger close.

has got tidier since I posted that to be fair. an interesting fellow and not a terrible player, but he just always looks so average in our very good team. The only real weak leak these days.
Playing some great stuff going forward but need next goal- if Villa score they are sure to park the bus
