I'm not sure why there was much debate about the red. You could argue that it was a tad harsh since they usually give yellows for that but as soon as it happened I was thinking "off off off", hopefully rather than expectently. Given the position of the players and the speed parker was going at he would have been one on one with the keeper and for me it was a deliberate attempt to prevent a clear goal scoring opportunity. Funny that the red card on wednesday was unjust in a game we lost but today it was fair and we won. Perhaps justice was done.

The real injustice was the scoreline which certainly didn't reflect the chances. I was fortunate enough to go to the 9-1 and we scored some amazing goals that were half chances, I think we only missed 2 or 3 chances in that game, and that was when it was 0-0. Bolton deserved that 9-1 thrashing far more than Wigan.

I don't think I mentioned it before but apparently todays win means we now have our longest winning streak in the premiership, 6 wins. We managed 5 wins on four occasions. 8 wins would be great, 9 would be perfect (well 38 would be perfect I suppose)

Cahill looked every bit an £18m signing! Highly overrated player and I genuinely don't think he is any better than what we already have......that includes Bassong.

I don't know. Defenders thrive on confidence and having a good combination. He's playing in an absolutely shambolic line-up at the moment, the team are under huge pressure and it shows. I still think if you put him in a decent back four he's a pretty good centre back. Gallas and Bassong both looked awful on wednesday but Gallas slotted in nicely yesterday, admittedly with not a lot to do.

Indeed, you have to look at things in context. He may not be that good either.

We've got Cheltenham Town at home in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, I was hoping for a weaker team at home. Hopefully we won't screw this one up

I'm convinced he's considerably better than Bassong but right now I'm very happy with Kaboul.

"KABOUL. KABOUL. KABOUL IS ON FIRE!"

Never in a million years thought I'd hear that chanted at the Lane. Put a grin on peoples faces!

Of course. We screwed up the Carling cup and the Europa League, so I'm hoping that we don't screw this up. I'm not saying I hope we don't lose to Cheltenham at home, it's the competition I hope we don't screw up. I'm sure players like Carroll and Kane are good prospects but I'm sure we can play better players in these competitions without troubling our first XI much. In previous seasons we've had the first XI play twice a week so surely it's not too much to ask them to play one midweek game a month

Bassong is a dreadful defender, always has been imo.

No, I think it runs to the end of the 2012/13 season. It's a shame for Jenas that he's picked up this injury just as he was potentially going to make his mark in the Villa team & kickstart his career again and a shame for us that said lack of 'kickstarting his career' won't now put him in the shop window for a permanent transfer in the summer.

I couldn't see him making a mark at any team in the premiership, at least not in the top half. I was disappointed it was only a loan but at least we're not paying his wages

looking forward to today's game but not confident of taking 3 points. Stoke due a win and we're likely to be without King and Bale.

First goal all important
