I still doubt how Carroll fits into the side. Even not taking Suarez into account we seem to play best with the likes of Downing, Mereiles, Enrique and even Maxi and Kuyt getting into space and turning the defence, Carroll just doesn;t fit into that style at the moment. Henderson seems to be starting to settle too, which is nice.

Important to have different plans for different teams - Carroll will star barring an England injury vs Stoke and you'll see a different style to combat their strengths.

Adam looks very comfortable. He's not quick but always seems to make time for himself on the ball.

We've bought at least 4 footed players which has balanced our whole left side too. Pass and move looks like it's making a comeback.

I'm not doubting his talent, just his ability to stay fit for a whole season (or even most of it).
Who's most likely to have to step aside for him, Adam?

Just got back...early days and there will be tougher tasks ahead but that was very impressive, fluid movement throughout the team and but for some poor finishing and a poor referee we really should be looking at a 5-6 goal win there.nice to see the atmosphere slowly returning to matchdays as well.what a difference a year makes, this time last year we were being outplayed by an average sunderland outfit.

Pleased to see Adam doing well for you guys. Was quite disappointed when he was pretty much chased out of Rangers by some boo-boy fans. When PLG took over his brief spell as manager, Adam really looked good however he very rarely got to play central midfield for us.

very satisfied duo on train home. i thought Hendo, Adam and Kuyt were excellent. also saw how well Lucas did throughout the game. we owned a decent bolton team. i saw it all when Skrtl did a step-over on the edge of their box. Silly goal to concede right at the end. Carroll was a donkey for the short time he was on.

I think it'll depend on the fixture - I'm sure we'll see him in a number of different roles either playing off the striker, playing attacking midfielder and even playing a more holding role if needed.

Great football from Liverpool today, starting to look like a 'proper' Liverpool team again.

Quite a different team and club from a year ago.

A good Cup run and a push for a top four spot (hopefully achieving it) and I'll be very happy.

Dwight York was at match yesterday - hopefully we're not THAT desperate for experience back-up strikers lol!

Just a quick post to thanks Salty for the tips.
On the way in we jumped in a cab outside the 917 stop (some "Taxi-1" service).
Had a blast at the game.
Afterwards rather than queue for ages we went round back and got autographs for my lad from Kuyt (who was a top bloke with the kids waiting) and Enrique. Bit peeved at Cara and Spearing who just strode past. Missed out of Suarez autograph as he was led away just before getting to us
Even so we grabbed some chips, luckily got a taxi almost straight away as someone got out of one in front of us and still ended up on the same train as some people we saw lave the ground same time as us who waited for BUs/Taxi

Looking at Tottenham & Arsenal today, a CL place is definitely there for the taking for Liverpool this season (but can't see you touching City or United TBH).

Have to agree. United look really sharp, better than last season, and City are looking like they'll be a real force. Chelsea looking very much in transition, but they're picking up the points and I'm sure they'll pick up once the new players bed in.

I imagine that for the neutrals this season could be far more entertaining than the last.

Yeah I only been away a week. Yeah we're miles away from the top 2 but we're also miles away from the abject displays of last season's openers.
