Mata is a winger though, IF Chelsea were looking at Meireles it would be an alternative to Modric to play in an advanced central playmaker role. Doubt it was ever true though.

He won the young player of the tournament at the Copa America didn't he?
My only concern is I would rather have experience instead of out and out raw talent and I think he lacks that but he would be quite an exciting buy.

So - another CB and another attacker, Aqua and Ngog out Cole perhaps. That would be good business.
Would be good to get shot of Poulson too.

6ft 6ins as well and apparently very mobile for his size - fits the age brackets, seem to have potential in abundance and obviously has a buddy in Suarez to help adapt. With him being 4th choice initially, he hopefully would have the time to bed in this season with out much pressure.

wanna read headlines of cole/poulsen next to go, along with ngog.

I think we'll see Cole gone next to QPR on loan - Comolli doing a good job getting them out the door slowly but surely!

Sterling is in the squad for tomorrow's game - hope we don't see a massively understrength team tomorrow. The Northampton game last season was such an abysmal loss that messing up against Exeter would set us back this season.

Agreed, would like to see a mix of youth and experience though, only opportunity for them to get proper match experience. Carroll needs to play, get some fitness and hopefully goals. Do you have rest of squad?

I highly, highly doubt it, especially given the result of the Arsenal game on the weekend. Daglish is getting the train moving in the right directly, much as I hate to admit it, Northampton was another stick to smack Hodgson with, the fans wouldn't do the same to Daglish, at least not this early, probably ever.

Echo saying that a lot of the first team has travelled including Suarez, Carroll, Jose Enrique etc so I think its going to be a very strong 16 available I reckon.

Why Suarez? Would have thought he could do with the rest!
I thought Doni was supposed to start this game

Loving these rumours that Liverpool are going to be handed a place in tomorrow's CL draw as Fenerbache have been kicked out. 'Supposedly' they are meant to look at giving the place to the highest ranked co-efficient team not in Europe this season which is us

it's not true but if it was it would be a disgrace.

Which would be Arsenal if they lost tonight, surely?
